Here's an old interview when Thurman was champ. Spence comes through and says he's not going to bother with calling out Thurman because he's just going to be injured again...

Yep. Thurman won't be fighting anytime soon. Ennis won't be fighting anytime soon. They're waiting.

Thurman isn't saying anything. Everyone called out Mayweather as he was the gateway to the jackpot . Everyone is calling out Thurman these days, as he is now the stepping stone to getting to the jackpot.

Maybe to keep him fresh in everyone's mind while they make spencer-thurman

Keith is as deluded as Crawford. Those two think that they are worth more than what people want to pay and actually think that people care about them a lot.
He not doing anything different to what Danny and Porter were doing. They don’t want to be fed to the up and comers and think they can just hang around the top level despite losing.

Probably wiser than fighting a number one ranked Ennis and risking a loss, or Ortiz Jr, although he'd have a better chance of beating Vergil.
He definitely could beat Ortiz. He would outclass him skill wise and take advantage of his lack of defense. His style is all wrong for Ortiz, who loves to walk his opponents down and punish them with power. Thurman moves all over the ring, and leads fighters to the spots where he likes to exchange and get out. He would pick Virgil apart.

I disagree, he fought Porter and Danny Garcia when they were young and considered 2 very dangerous opponents for anyone at the top of the division. I don't like the way he seems to be waiting for the exact fights that he wants, as if he holds the leverage or is revered by his peers to that extent, but it doesn't diminish what he did in the ring. Its just all of these injury issues and periods of inactivity need to stop.

                    Who are we kidding?

People just need to focus on Ennis and Thurman who are both PBC fighters.

So Thurman is waiting, Ennis is also waiting for the Spence/Crawford winner.
Assuming the superfight happens in December, then both fighters could be back 6 months later, if you're lucky.

This is truly sad. These guys won't be seen in the ring for about a year or more since their last fights because they're waiting, instead of fighting.
Nah, Boots is hardly ever inactive for long, hell, he was calling out Thurman and anyone else at top besides Crawford and Spence in the meantime. I just don't think there's a lot of people who are going to step up to his challenge. Thurman, Ugas, or Stantionis, or however you spell it, should be more than willing to get that payday. One loss doesn't take anyone out of the mix if its against a top fighter. It might even make for bigger paydays with a good showing and now, more top fighters willing to fight for position.
