Comments Thread For: Team Haney: This Narrative That You Don't Have To Be A Champion, That's a Falsehood

Bill Haney thinks the boxing public needs to be educated on the topic of sanctioning body fees and the value of championship titles.

Tank and Garcia might be able to beat Haney, but they don't have the desire to challenge themselves like Haney has done and probably will achieve less as a result. I think Tank has collected more interim WBA titles than anybody in history though so that's something.

Belts and judges don't determine who the better fighter is.

It's that space between your ears.

Certain boxers reached a point in their careers where they won enough titles and the belts didn’t make or break them any longer. Floyd reached a point where he was dismissive of titles and even Cotto let the wbc take his belt in protest over their excessive sanctioning fees. The issue now is that guys who are 0 time world champions and haven’t done sh** in the sport like a Ryan Garcia are acting as if they’re bigger than the titles because of Instagram fame.

I remember Floyd beating Moseley and not even trying to keep the WBA belt. Same thing after he beat Manny, didn't care for the WBO title and it quickly made itself back to Arum and his fighters.

Glad to read this so these dummies can stop squawking about how belts don't mean anything because of a sanctioning fee.

              Those trinkets don’t matter

Floyd always dropped belts outside of the WBC because that sanctioning fee money would go directly to his pocket..

Same as Miguel Cotto dropping the WBC middleweight title on the eve of his fight with Canelo because he refused to pay the WBC $300k..

This Haney guy doesn’t grasp the concept that the money he’s negotiating out of his budget would simply go into his pocket without those trinkets. People like Haney need those belts because they have no fanbase & they can’t sell a ticket to save their life.

Ryan Garcia will never need those damn belts, Ryan net worth is more then Errol Spence, Tank Davis etc..

Ryan has been marketed properly & just had placement on NFL opening video. He will simply only get bigger. Kambosos did not want to fight Ryan, and the WBC did not want to give Ryan a shot at some vacant made up title against some no hopper that Haney fought, so don’t be mad now that they’re getting frozen out of the Ryan Garcia bag!!

Dis fuqing guy here! LOL! Ryan said out his own mouth when he lost that 20k bet to Spence that he didn't bet more because he doesn't have the money that Spence does. Stop capping for the man!

Bill Haney it's only obvious that your all over Maurice Sulaiman nuts!!! Anybody that's been in the Boxing business knows that the sanctioning fee come out of fighter's purses that's why it's called a percentage of the fighters purse!!!
