    My question is...

What the **** did you expect?

The casual fans seen Floyd before...they took the time to watch the fight...sucks for them...

I enjoyed it but I was disappointed Marquez made it to the final bell...

everyone was enjoying it at the bar i was at.

and theres like 1500 comments in the espn Mayweather-Marquez section.
I thought the fight was pretty entertaining, but yea, wouldve been nice if Mayweather tried to end the fight.

people got really excited when Juarez had John stumbling in the last round. wish that bastard wouldve finished it, ha

the bar i was at had both on too, and no one paid any attention at all to the ufc one.

Props to TomatQKinG111 who wrote this:

I mean Floyd is always in a no win situation. I dont blame floyd for taking the mic from MAX I would be snapping too If I had boxing skills that was superior and was always overshadowed by fighters with half the skill or fighters who liked to take endless amounts of punishment just to please the fans.

Why bleed and cut it you don't have too?

I don't blame Floyd for not wanting to be punch drunk.

Could you imagine someone like MJ dumbing down his skill level to make a bball game closer so people can see a more competitive game

or Jerry Rice purposely dropping passes so football fans can see how he struggles under pressure.

Alot of "so-called" boxing fans are always trying to force Floyd and other fighters that practice the sweet science to abandon their defense n put there chin in the air for there enjoyment.

Athletes being asked to be less athletic, never thought I'd see the day.

        Final PunchStat Report

        Mayweather
        290 / 493 Total Punches [ 59%]
        185 / 316 Jabs [ 59%]
        105 / 177 Power Punches [ 59%]

        Marquez
        69 / 583 Total Punches [12%]
        21 / 288 Jabs [ 7%]
        48 / 295 Power Punches [16%]

Total domination by Floyd who held Marquez to single digit connects in every round.
Floyd distributed his attack, landing 59%of his power shots and 59% of his jabs.
Floyd landed more jabs each round than Marquez did total punches.
Floyd’s performance was reminiscent of Roy Jones’ domination of Reggie Johnson. Jones outlanded Johnson 276-48, but one can’t place Johnson in the same class as Marquez, and future Hall of Famer.

it ****** on a couple levels...

          1) it was a total mismatch. I TOLD YOU MOFOS THAT IT WAS A MISMATCH

          2) it made JMM look like garbage. JMM is way better than that... but y'all gotta realize JMM has no experience fighting at WW (I ALSO TOLD YOU MOFOS THAT).

          3) not to mention the fact that floyd cheated by not coming in at 144 lbs... floyd must've been around 160 lbs on fight night... that's why he didn't want to do HBO's unofficial weigh in. I TOLD YOU MOFOS THAT THERE'S A REASON WHY THERE ARE WEIGHT DIVISIONS.

          4) that fact that this mismatch was ppv is sad... lots of gullible people got gypped.

My buds and I enjoyed the fights for the most part. They don't watch the sport much but they still can appreciate Mayweathers skills. First three fights were solid if you ask me. One fight shouldn't be the end all to be all especially in a sport as rich as boxing. You should tell your friends to tune in more and if they see the same stuff then give it up. Tell them to tune in Nov 14.

I have to say I agree with this.

I had the same problem with the DLH vs Mayweather fight. I had a heap or people over for that fight and it was a total disappointment as far as ent goes.

Floyd isn't a crowd pleasing fighter imo. Sure he is very talented, but why after Knocking him down didn't he go after him and try and finishing off?

I enjoyed most of the card and seems a lot of the fans around here were happy enough with it, and that's all that really matters to me. Not too bothered what very casual fans or UFC fans think of the fights.

I've stopped trying to get my friends to watch boxing, or telling them there's a great fight coming up, cause usually they will be dissapointed once they watch it. Now instead I let them mention to me if they're interested. Some of them asked to get together for the fight last night, simply cause they knew Mayweather and wanted to see him lose. But they seemed to enjoy it anyway.

My Mexican neighbors enjoyed it. What are you people talking about? Everyone at that block spoke about it.

Good ****, Miss, I agree with you, but I still have mad respect for JMM for going on what Mangler has correctly termed a "kamikaze mission" and giving it his all.

It made for a ****ty, disgraceful fight, but it confirmed everything I thought about JMM and his character before the fight.

If the world had more people like him in it, we'd all be in a better place right now.

We all felt bad for Marquez. The fight was so lop-sided many of the family didn't even care to watch it to the end.
