Last night was a bad night for boxing

Just from my personal experience, and with my thoughts on the fight aside(i thought it was overwhelmingly too lopsidedly scored for Mayweather)I watched the fight with a crowd of people, and there were alot of comments about "this is why I don't watch boxing", "this is the best boxing has to offer?" and how weak mayweathers performance was. it didnt help that the announcers were treatin it as a fight for pound 4 pound #1, and doin all but blowing mayweather in their commentary. The place I was at had both the ufc and the mayweather fight on screens, and the mayweather had everyones attention until about the 5th round when people saw the graphic and how every round was going to get scored for mayweather no matter how little he did. people were arguing about who won the first round, and everybody reacted to the 2nd round knockdown, but from there it was a really bad night to be a boxing fan. the announcers seemed more interested in putting over mayweather then calling the fight. and then mayweather had the nerve to rip the microphone out of Max kellermans hands before he could ask him any questions about pacquaio. i was embarressed by the end of the night to tell anyone that I went there soley to see the boxing.

The main event was the kind of situation where I was embarrassed that I had people over to watch.

I watched it with a crowd of black people, and most of them were disappointed and felt the fight was extremely boring. Their was one black guy who was a cool guy but was a bit like Horus and said stuff like wow floyds awesome and so on. He told me he appreciated Floyds skills and so on...

I don't care, when I watch a boxing fight I want to be entertained. And no one their was really entertained, even though he appreciated Floyds skills I don't even know if he actually enjoyed the fight.

I don't know but I always agree with you all the time.

Anything you say is just perfect with me.

It doesn't help that Chris John vs. Rocky Juarez was one sided too and most casual fans didn't realize going in how out of his league Marquez was going to be. There's a reason people have been looking forward much more to Pac-Cotto.

I thought it was a great night for boxing, myself.

Granted the mian event was a total mismatch, and Marquez was a lamb to slaughter.

But the Katsidis fight was really entertaining, and John/Juarez had it's moments.

If anything I basically chalked it up to just a Floyd "tune up" that had to take place to get us all the fight we really want ; Mayweather/Pacquiao.

Techinical mismatch. They shouldn't judge the sport based on one fight.
