Robert Garcia thinking AJ gave up and lost heart when he couldn't put Usyk away is maybe a reflection of the fact that Garcia has never trained a huge muscular HW like AJ before.

Maybe, but I just think it’s lack of fight intelligence manifesting in poor or downright erratic pacing. Always get the impression he never knows when to stick or twist, and those examples you bring up are good ones.

For a contrasting example, the Pulev fight: could have dismantled him and taken him out far earlier than round 9, but looked unsure when to start upping the ante because he doesn’t seem to be able to see openings or spot when his opponent’s genuinely hurt, or otherwise.

AJ Said it himself he isnt a 12 round fighter, i think Rob Mckraken didnt push his limits to make him a 12 round fighter, therefore he doesn't know how to be pushed to get the conditioning to the level needed where he can be exhausted yet keep fighting through it. the whole fight for AJ was based on him getting one window of opportunity and closing the show... he got it in the 9th but didnt have it in his tank to finish the job... usyk was there for the taking. Skills was never going to win for AJ vs Usyk...

Yes I remember the Whyte vs Joshua fight, hey mate? You do know that fights are not linear? Whyte came back and had some good rounds, because he come back 'That is what can happen in fights'. That fight was still a high intensity fight, and the fact of the matter is 'Joshua came through it, and knocked Whyte out'.

It has nothing to do with his muscle. Joshua was 244 pounds for this fight, and from what I saw? He handled the pace better '4 pounds heavier than the first fight'. At the end of this rematch, he was on his feet 'Not sitting on his stool out of it'.

Usyk's endurance and his speed are his best attributes. Joshua stylistically was then is facing a fighter who is going to put heavy pressure on his not so strongest attribute. Joshua still survived and was keeping up with the pace for the majority of the fight.

Joshua vs any other Heavyweight, his endurance may not really be tested to the lengths Usyk pushed it.

Joshua has not got super elite stamina, but it is not as bad as people make out. He has won fights due to his endurance. There is no way he would of beaten Kiltschko, in a fight where he had to heavily relie on his endurance 'To come back from the knock down, to then knock out Kiltschko'.

People need to stop going on about Joshua's physique, complain about the other fighters who are a mess you know who they are 'Go and criticize their physiques and conditioning'

'Joshua is always in condition, and is very consistent with his conditioning'.

All fighters have different strengths and then some area's where they are not strongest.

RD9 is a mirage, Usyk wasn't THAT hurt and for the punches that Joshua threw not many landed!

AJs time on top is over. Wlad pushed him over the edge. No psychological mumbo jumbo, attitude adjustments can beat father time.

A great contest, very close. Not a humiliating loss, but hard to take no doubt for Joshua. A tough, tough win of a close fight for Usyk again. He has handled big muscular guys much easier than this fight with AJ. That was a close, tactical fight.

Robert Garcia's comments are surprising, frank, and maybe show some frustration. Seems he may not have liked the setup at camp, or the attention and response he was getting from AJ. He didn't like something it seems. Surprising.

If AJ can keep his head through these tough times, this loss may end up being the best thing that ever happened for him. He didn't get beat down, no serious injuries, and he has a whole new angry (dangerous?) attitude after this fight. If he channels that properly he can beccome a much more dangerous fighter.

He has to learn to live with the risks though ... there is no way to eliminate all risks if your are going to be attacking. A better, meaner, more consistent jab will go a long way. He needs to channel that frustration to growth and more precision on attack. He has to learn how and when to conserve energy and how/when to expend it ... always keeping a reserve.

He will be better off without all of the "greatest ever" pressures from the boxing public (UK in particular). It would serve him well if that could become a non-topic for a few years.

Another example of trainers being overrated.
