i couldn’t care less who ‘should have’ or ‘was’ in line for the title fight, it categorically SHOULDN’T have been Loma. Simple as that.

Because MANY rematch clauses are not fulfilled immediately. That fact that along with the fact that Kombosos was a mandatory and the fact that Lopez left the division right afterwards leans way more toward the rematch not happening immediately or ever, clause or no clause. I know you really want to see Loma get a shot at the title. He will.

And many rematch clauses have been fulfilled immediately, with step aside money paid to the mando fighter, if necessary.

part of me wants Haney to ask for emeritus/ franchise title so he doesn’t have to fight Loma just to see the responses so we can compare them with past comments.

Which doesn't mean anything other than the fact that an immediate rematch was not a given and I don't see how anyone can be so sad for Loma. He has had a great run and if he wins another title, it is just icing on the cake.
