They are both pretty damaged. So that is why it is 50 -50 fight, I guess.
Who is more finished, Joshua or Wilder?

Joshua for the same reasons. Wilder got the heart of a lion and once he knocks Helenius out (bitter sweet for me) he is back on track. AJ been finished since Ruiz 1, Andy took his nuts and ran off now hes just a coward with no aggression in him, on top of being a racist phony bastard.Comment

Very good question. We probably won’t have a true answer until each has their next fights (they both lost to the absolute best in the division) and then they fight each other. I wanna see how they respond to the Helenius’s and other mid-lower tier guys of the division. If they each get wins, then they need to fight each other to truly settle it.
overall, I believe Wilder is more physically beaten while Joshua is more mentally/emotionally broken.Comment

Wilder. Inactive, and took two absolute beatings.
AJ is on a bad run, but he's fighting - Wilder isn't. AJ is still going through camp, still grinding - that is a platform for return to success. Wilder...isn't.
Plus, it's very easy to make a judgement on the mental state of AJ that we saw with our own eyes - it's the mental state of Wilder that we aren't seeing, that could be worse.Comment

I dont know that either are finished. Wilder took a couple of serious beatings and in reality lost three fights in a row. Time will tell if there is any lasting damage, its not crazy to think if he has lingering issues that Helenius does him when they fight. I mean people seem to forget Wilder has been out boxed by literal journeymen until he landed the home run. He isnt 30 years old anymore.
Joshua has always had the tools to be a really special fighter he just doesnt have the dog in him. The aggression is all but gone. Im not sure either get back to the top but Ill watch the show.

This is the correct answer. Joshua has always been the better fighter and showed good skill in his last fight, while Wilder got the **** kicked out of him in his last two fights and was outboxed the fight before that. He went into hiding for 10 months after the last fight contemplating if he'd ever return to the ring. People talk about Joshua's self doubt but like to ignore Wilder's self doubt.Last edited by Damn Wicked; 08-23-2022, 01:23 AM.Comment

It is like Mike Tyson -Holyfield situation. Both guys looked pretty damaged, but it was still a big fight.Comment

Wilder took far more damage off Fury than AJ did against Usyk, so logic would dictate that AJ has more left, especially with him being younger.
Wilder still has that bomb in his right hand though, that will be there forever.Comment

Haven’t voted because this doesn’t give the option of “neither” and, respectfully, suggest this is a leading question.
I’ll say the same thing about these two as I did about Kell Brook in relation to Errol Spence and Crawford:
Joshua and Wilder would have lost, respectively, to Usyk and Fury, at any point in their careers, whether in 2022, 2018 or 2015.
Doesn’t mean they’re ‘finished’, just means they’re not as good as those latter 2.
Aj-Ruiz was a freak, and culmination of long stylistic uncertainties. 19 times out of 20, AJ should be beating Ruiz by employing Wlad tactics.Comment
