    AJ and his outburst

I hate when I have to agree with characters that I do not favor, in boxing, in life... But when you are right, you are right... Eddie is correct and people need to give AJ a break IMO. He was really trying to win, he had some nice body work and was encouraged... in his mind it slipped away and it is maddening. I don't think AJ is a killer, but I do think he has the mindset of an athlete that needs to win.

He lost it and he was wrong. Does not make him crazy, unstable, etc. It makes him childish and very driven... Usyk was not insulted and of anyone he is the one with the right to be insulted.

AJ showed talent and while the fight itself was round 13, AJ did show some nice chops with the body work... He has a few and while not at the apex of the division, he could have some decent scraps.

This didn't really need a new thread but I'll give you a like anyway. The guy lost a fight in the beating heat of the desert after months of pressure and was having to process being the lesser man. It wasn't exactly a recipe for rationalism. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable but understandable. Unfortunately, the online space is dominated by agitated young men who will use anything to move up a perceived pecking order so will seize on this as an opportunity to gloat. Plus ca change.

Usyk has far more going on than AJ ever will have and he dealt with the pressure. It’s like when people make excuses for Mike against Douglas despite Douglas having a far more tumultuous preparation than Mike had.

At the end of the day, AJ got his ass beat then hijacked Usyk’s moment, went on some bizarre rant and acted like a clown.

We can understand why he did it, with all the pressure and the weight of expectation but we can’t just excuse it. Mr “stay humble” acted like self-important d***head when he had no right to, so he has to man up and deal with the consequences.

A justification and an explanation are not the same thing. Usyk didn't lose so you can't claim to know how he would have reacted.

            Agreed

We've all had moments 'where we've lost the plot' unfortunately for AJ it was in front of the world

He has since apologised 'the fight and my emotions both got the better of me'

Many people simply cannot admit when they've done wrong

Ruiz didn’t act like a classless fool either when he lost in Saudi.

When you get your ass beat, you take a step back and let the man who’s earned it have his moment.

None of what you wrote has any relevance to what I just wrote. Are you capable of introspection? Just remember, whatever Joshua did or didn't do, you were just staring passively at a screen again.

You wouldn't think so to listen to some of the cretins in the online space. What Eddie said about "opinions, stick and abuse" on Twitter is right. I haven't been on social media for a long time, but occasionally dipping my toe in forums is bad enough.

AJ showed shame... Shame is what gives a person validity in so far as apologizing... that is an ancient recipe! AJ was wrong, and BTW many fighters in similar heat, etc did not lose it ahem... But he is not mentally unstable. Usyk understood. usyk gave Joshua that space to accept the situation and AJ has.
