Amere Con constantly talked about how great he was
Take away the Maidana fight and there's nothing left.

In the UK, we had race riots in the north back in 2001. White council estates vs pakistanis. Then we had the london 7/7 bombing. Amir Khan was badly needed as a british pakistani/****** role model and someone who would symbolise and represent the good of british multicutralism and intergration.
He did very well as a 17 yr old to win the Silver medal and then after that he became a media darling for a while.

The 'hype' itself only comes as a consequence of becoming a somebody which helped him earn more money than someone at his level should have been on eg if he was a generic white or black silver medalist he would not have that kind of profile at that time. This is back when boxing in the uk was in a dark age.

Now AJ came up right after the 2011 riots and once again like amir, became the perfect representation of multicultural britain. Except he was a gold medalist and the real deal.
Whilst amir khan never avenged a loss, at least AJ beat ruiz and rematched Usyk (performed better but still not enough).

AJ being a 'hypejob' is what brought serious money into boxing after floyd mayweather's looted the sport and fanbase, handing it over to the ufc by being the utter boring b4stard that he is.
All the aj vs wilder talk kept it going and kept it interesting. it led to dazn's entry which shook things up in the US and then the whole thing 3ith wilder cherry picking fury to get thqat 50% against aj.
basically most of the entertainment in boxing, the drama, has come because of aj. furthermore, guys like chisora are about and entertaining because there's more money in the sport and he has a fanbase who are matchroom fans and londoners who extend that support to chisora.

Both made huge fortunes off Olympic medals, clever marketing and careful matchmaking.

Both were very average in terms of pure ability.

Khan had speed, Joshua was humble. Both were chinny.

              At least Khan had heart.

                    Joshua humble?

He disrespected and tried to destroy the belts which didnt belong to him, then went backstage and threatened to beat up a random old man who told him to keep it professional.

Then broke down and cried in the post presser to act like a victim. I see others on here trying to blame others for not trying to protect AJ when' he's been protected his entire career
