And he had 5 weeks notice and he is a huge guy as you can see even at 175. I doubt he was in the best condition with that amount of time to train and get down to 168. He looked ridiculously drained in the Canelo weigh in. But you can’t pass those opportunities up.
he’s probably not at that level anyway but he wasn’t 100% that night

Smith doesn't fight at a fast intensity unless he knows he can hit his man, and he's apt to be punished for long-limbed wide shots. Compact fighters with good counters and strong understanding of range are anathema for that - John Ryder drew with Smith on my card, and Canelo's the apotheosis of John Rydergingerbreadman likes this.
