Not sure how hes a prime player after getting DOMINATED 3x in a row. Even more ridiculous is the wbc having him as #1. Look, hes a big puncher but he fought too many nobodies, nearly lost to a 50yo Ortiz then when he finally fought a top guy he gets his sh.it pushed in.
fighting slow/robotic Helenious is a decent comeback fight but on ppv? F.o.h
and i got Ruiz beating Ortiz and AJ getting stopped in the middle roundsLast edited by El_Mero; 08-18-2022, 12:11 PM.Comment

We will see if this is just empty words, but he blessed Ortiz with a fight when nobody wanted the smoke.
Another undefeated Cuban boogeyman in Frank Sanchez could get the opportunity and both are highly ranked by the WBC too.
Because I expect Ruiz to lose and the Ortiz trilogy makes no business sense for PBC, this may actually happen.Comment

Ha ha, your heart tells you they win, but im sure your head tells you otherwise. Why you want a 3rd fight with Ortiz, everyone wants you to fight Ruiz if you like giving fans what they want.Comment

Keep preaching..some people really do have wilfully selective memory and love forgetting the truth whenever it suits. Jay Jimenez, the manager of Ortiz, is on record saying they were offered the fight with Joshua and regretted not going through with it. The subsequent fight with Wilder was nothing more than Al Haymon’s compensation to Ortiz for being made to turn down a career high pay-day, for a fight he probably got even less for, let’s be honest.Comment

“I’m in the business of giving fans great fights.”
This hasn’t really happened and he openly admits here that the PBC guys sticking to fighting each other which is why his resume is paper thin .
He hasn’t giving fans great fights ,his fights have been carefully selected and mismatches on paper besides the Ortiz fight the first one and Fury .
Helenius doesn’t even count so after that he’s got an opportunity to give fans the fights they want but he’s already hinting at Ortiz 3 if he wins himself .
Yet Wilder, a good few years older than both, hid behind Shelly Finkel who essentially stated they wanted no part of Klitschko before Fury faced him, and racked up 40+ fights fighting absolute nobodies, with the exception of Ortiz (40th fight). Then cherry picked a come-backing Fury who looked woefully out of shape fighting Seferi and Pianeta within 3 months of being out of the ring for almost 3 years, and we all know what happened there.

So him fighting a non PBC fighter 3x in a row, who happens to be the best fighter in the division isn't giving us great fights? Fury will absolutely destroy Joshua and make him quit whereas Wilder will fight until he's forced to stop. Joshua is a bum, he says nicer things on camera but as far as fighting goes, he's the 4th best. Helenius is a dangerous comeback fight for him, although I think Helenius is too slow to avoid getting KO'd by Wilder. Who else is there for him to fight that isn't a PBC fighter besides Joshua or Whyte? Both of those fights are easy KOs for Wilder but they are harder to make and he knows it as well as all of us.
You calling anyone that puts those gloves on especially a former HW Champ a bum shows that You have limited boxing knowledge & Your opinions shouldn't even matter

People are basing their opinions of Luis Ortiz’ off his last performance versus Charles Martin. Well who the fuck was Charles Martin?
Chances are ‘King Kong’ hasn’t even heard of that loser. Which was probably the reason for his uneven performance against him.
He probably didn’t’ even train for the fight. He probably saw the fight as a way to make some easy money,
He’s going to be ready for Andy Ruiz however. That’s the fight he has being searching for and looking for a very long time.Comment

Wilder confuses me. Sometimes he, "Wants a body on his record." Other times he, "wish[es] them the best of luck and hope[s] they get out of the ring just like they came in – safe and sound.”
Either way, I'm glad Wilder is back. I'll always tune in for his fights. He's wrong, though. The Destroyer is going to give King Kong a savage beating.Comment
