I would say so. H2H from 130 to 140, I think Crawford is 50/50 against all fighters who fought in those weight classes. Same thing for Spence at 147. Hell, I would make the argument that if they would've fought in manny and Floyd's era, they would be the two best fighters in their era. Crawford is a tremendous boxer who is arguably the best switch-hitter of all time, and Spence is one of those old-school fighters who have the will to put in on the line. When they retire, I think they will be remembered in this same class as the Fab 4 and Floyd and Manny. Thoughts?
Is Crawford and Spence Generational Talents?

They are the top fighters of this era. I would not really take it as far to say? We have never seen this level of skill and performance before.
Oscar De La Hoya at his peak probably beats both of them or would really really push them. I don't want to discredit them too much, as they are currently undefeated.
Has Spence Junior or Crawford beaten anybody on the level of De La Hoya? Shane Mosley? Not really.
But that is only down to this era, not really being as strong 'But it is still good'.
The late 90's, early 2000's and very early 2010's. The entire Welter Weight divisions, were at the second strongest they have ever been in History.
Only really the 80's may have rivaled that era.

Both are elite for sure but has either beaten another elite? Not quite sure how one would go about defining the term 'generational' in nuts and bolts terms. Spence has fantastic fundamentals but not as much 'flash' as I like to call it - 'straight up and down' maybe you'd say (like a GGG or Bivol)- and was boss though never undisputed at 147, Crawford has the greater raw talent and has more creative flair in the ring but also takes more chances which can sometimes make him look more vulnerable. Bud won many more titles across more divisions but some would argue it was against weaker opposition although I myself don't see much in it.
One for the boxing historians of the future I'd say, like all these kinda questions, but my guess is that both will be mentioned with respect but be 'what if's because neither had any great rivalries or protagonists to set themselves against... Maybe had they fought immediately Bud moved up and the winner gone on to undisputed and divisional dominance for a few years I could see it but as is?

Crawford is and should be fighting Charlo in any generation other than this nonsense for a 3rd undisputed. Bob Arum Pet Rock Club if you think PBC isn't trying to sideline him to give Spence a better chance of winning. Crawford would have 2 fights scheduled this year if he was still with Top Rank. They found all the money in the world for Fury (thought he was cake b/c of the drugs and peds) who literally sold 3900 tickets in a ballroom before Wilder but can't find a 15 million 3-fight deal for Crawford who sells out all home fights and has PPV on par with GGGimmick PRE-CANELO (pay close attention when people say Crawford doesn't sell but the fraud does). All excuses and boxing fans showing their lack of knowledge. Go ahead and buy the Wilder PPV with that GREAT co-main, LOL!Last edited by hhh1200; 08-18-2022, 01:15 AM.Comment

Undisputed, 2 times lineal, 3 division, has no control of the BS that is going on right now as a fighter. If he dropped his promoter, there is no question what he wants to do at welterweight and requesting Jermell Charlo fight also.
As I said in the Tyson thread, maybe Keef, Danny and Spence are the ones with the accolades.Comment
