Champions are mostly remembered and rated for their big wins, not the length of their reigns.

Hence the disrespect Holmes and W. Klitschko receive in ATG discussions despite being objectively superior fighters to Louis and Ali, for example.

Fury will retire after undisputed regardless of all this noise. Maybe he sticks around for the AJ payday, but that is it.

Hrgovic, Joyce, Sanchez, etc. are going to have to fight amongst each other and create their own legacies.

You think people are going to forget Fury keeps vacating/getting stripped and having next to no defences? as i say i'm a fan of Fury so not even like i'm dissing him he needs to do it for his own sake people were still questioning if Furys legacy was worth anything before he even vacated now we go down this road again. The tides have turned a little on Fury and he's popularity seems to be dwindling somewhat so it's not like all this bs has no impact on him. I just don't see the point in all this bs he should just wait for the Usyk/Joshua winner deal with business and stick to the reign he was on. Fair play for still sticking with him though if he vacates that WBC belt i doubt i will be a fan much longer tbh.

Stacking defences against lames is what you do when you have no rivals and/or compete in a weak era.

Dethroning the best HW of the previous generation, dominating the defining trilogy of your era against an undefeated, long-reigning champion and going undisputed against the undefeated CW GOAT will be an unmatched legacy.

Fury did most of this as an underdog whose power and durability were incorrectly mocked for years too.

Whether he remains retired or comes back for Usyk or Joshua, we don't know, but he certainly is handing back the WBC belt officially.

He's had all the belts, so he doesn't need nor care about belts anymore. If he doesn't come back for a serious prizefight, then it looks like he is open to exhibitions with Thor and Ngannou.

If that's it, then let me say thank you Tyson, for the great memorable fights, especially that third and last one in the trilogy with Wilder. If he wants to return, welcome, as there's no other heavyweight like him today.

Not sure about "proper talent" but there are still some good fights to be made. Fury is an excellent boxer but I won't miss him. His antics have been boring for years now, just the same repetitive nonsense and the "mental health" sob story. It's hardly Ali taking a principled stand is it?

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 and 75% of all suicides are committed by men... someone needs to talk about mental health men sure as hell don't, I personally don't care if it's a sob story from Fury.

I've personally lost 5 friends to suicide because relationships breaking down resulting in their separation from their children leading to financial ruin and addiction and ultimately being unable to open up to people around them including friends and family... And sadly the inevitable.

LOL did Fury going for undisputed happen in your dream last night? How are you giving him credit for something he hasn’t even done yet??

Besides, Usyk still has a way to go before beating Holyfield as the CW GOAT, and Wilder reign is a product of ridiculous matchmaking that wouldn’t stand up in any other era (Ortiz as his only live victim in 40+ fights..seriously?).

Simply put, Tyson’s legacy doesn’t stand up to the likes of Lewis, Holyfield, Holmes, Foreman at all, all of whom beat at least 2-3 fellow HoFs on top of stacking defences.
