I do think Haymon has been a major topic of debate since HBO fired him and made him the reason they got out of boxing.

I think that has been a seminal event in the sport. It is understandable why people would discuss him.

I think Dazn coming on has been another pivotal event that posters are obviously going to discuss.

The only actual “simps” are the posters that only watch one boxing promoter. I think most watch everything but DAZN only because you need a subscription.

I understand boxers fans but not promotional fanboys.

Promotional companies are a necessary cancer but they get in the way of so many matchups.

At the end it is a business and money is what rules their decisions.

Both were well taken care of financially and given big fights while Kownacki got fed to Helenius for a packet of crisps.

        Poor examples.

Hearn - Charismatic, presented an easy-going attitude and is relatively young which was a breath of fresh air to those sick of the bitter old fossils that had run boxing for decades. Also, he promised a lot and seemed, at one point, to may be able to back it up.

Now he has become the bitter, cynical promoter he once mocked and overestimated his own draw by dropping Sky for DAZN*. Plus, it is no secret he idolises Dana White's near monopoly of MMA with the UFC and wishes to emulate a similar model in boxing.

This has resulted in the American promotional stables pretty much shutting him out stateside, particularly PBC.

*All he has done is overpay guys like Jacobs for the Canelo bout to line his own pockets. Plus, he is desperately looking for the next US star by overpaying guys like Haney and Andrade who have no pulling power whatsoever.

So overall, he is a fairly slimy character with a huge ego.
Haymon is debatable. Some say he favors Mexicans and Mexicans have more active dates than his black fighters.

Andrade was logical given the assets were over at DAZN to match him with GGG Munguia and Canelo. DAZN execs are clusters. No way you contract those guys, esp GGGimmick, without guarantees on fights.

Al Haymon is one of the most successful boxing "promoters" of all time. That's not simping. It's just facts. Guy doesn't even talk to the media yet everyone knows who he is. He basically runs boxing.

Because a lot of black fighters are divas who get overpaid for fighting bums and there are a finite amount of dates.

It is no secret that the financial state of PBC post-COVID is not great.

DAZN signed GGG with the expectation that the big money Canelo trilogy would occur much earlier than it did. Andrade got ****ed over by this.

Hearn simps are the worst, they literally twerk for him no matter what he does or says. He contradicts himself every other day

A better question is why do people 'simp' over public figures at all? It seems people need something outside of themselves to give their life meaning, and in an increasingly secular society that 'something' has become vapid actors, dumb sportsmen, etc.

Perhaps because Warren and Bob are old crusty fellows whereas Hearn and Haymon have tried to shake up the sport a bit.
Read YouTube comments under Warren or Hearn interviews and you will see there are factions supporting each. The young fans (who mostly support Warren because he's with Fury) don't realise how badly Warren has treated fighters in the past. He's liquidated at least two companies prior to forming Queensberry (Sports Network and Frank Warren Promotions) in order to avoid paying creditors, which included some fighters. Ricky Burns being one.

Interesting. I remember the old days of Warren and Moloney but my knowledge and understanding is topical at best. Makes sense that Frank would have developed a following while managing a fighter like Fury.
