Parker is all wrong for Joyce

I have a big respect for Joyce taking this fight, but Parker is a huge step up for him. Parker will not be here to get hit all night like Dubois and others.

Parker probably wins a comfortable decision. Yes, Joyce is huge and he can put a pressure on Parker, but on the other hand I can see Parker landing on Joyce`s face easily.

And Joyce won`t just walk him down. Parker is experienced, he has fought Joshua, Ruiz, Whyte, Chisora.

If Joyce wanted a high profile fight, Parker is the worst option for him. But I guess he can`t be a chooser.

It's a big gamble for both, and I respect that.

Either could get title fights without facing each other. But whoever wins puts themselves right in the frame with a much improved commercial standing too.

    Genuine 50/50 fight for me.

I'm surprised it's happening. Fights like this usually don't happen when they don't make sense. But these guys had options.

Joyce's jab is a good one. He throws it frequently and disrupts a lot. I expect Parker to fight good for 4 rounds and hold the rest of the way. He will do a John Ruiz impression.

I think Parker wins wide on points UNLESS Joyce can walk through fire and eventually wear Parker out. The biggest danger Parker faces is to be too tired to get out of harms way.

Ironically Parker arguably lost to all the names you mentioned there . Your basically basing it off loses and Parker’s best win would be DDD to date which Joyce has because Parker’s wins are either razor close or wins that could have went either way if you added Takam that’s another one where Joyce clearly did better there as well .

Smart money is on Joyce not Parker and why can’t Joyce be a chooser he’s the one that went out of his way to get this particular fight ? Joyce has overwhelmed everyone he’s faced without leaving doubts he won . I’d give Parker maybe around 25% chance to win and that’s easy to see based on his own wins which many were poor performances .

Posters thinking Joyce won’t land on him haven’t really watched Parker’s fights close enough or Joyce’s for that matter the guy that’s to slow but batters everyone all the time ?

If any of them were to rematch Parker. He'd lay waste to them all, like he did with Chisora on their second date.

There's more than sense to be made here. There's big dollars in a rematch and possible trilogy.

Parker will school or stop him, This will be Joyce's Tony Thompson fight.

OP is exactly right, it's very obvious this is poor matchmaking by Frank Warren.

                Not quite.

Yes Parker beat Chisora, and those are some really good and underrated wins.

And Joyce just like Chisora can apply near psychopathic violent pressure, but with superior endurance than this current version of Chisora.

Chisora does still have more speed, and a better defense than Joyce.

But Joyce is 6"6 260 pounds solid, when he comes in condition. Parker has never seen anything like what is coming for him in Joe Joyce.

And I don't think it is so easy to out box Joe Joyce. He has a solid Jab, possibly the 3rd to 4th best Jab in the Heavyweight Division. I personally rate Joyce's jab superior to Joshua's 'Only Fury & Wilder have displayed better Jabs' Joshua's Jab can be good, but sometimes it can be extremely passive, shades of David Price.

It is a close fight to call, but I don't see a clear winner at this stage. It may be a fight of two half's, Parker winning the early rounds then? Joyce just grinding away. Where Chisora fatigued, Joyce will start to fight harder etc.

But he has an experience fighting on top level. Unlike Joyce, whose best fight is a novice Dubois.

Unlike Hrgovic, whose the best fight will be Zhang.

Unlike Dubois, whose the best win is....Bryan?

Joyce might look like a mummy on ketamine in there but he knows what he's doing. His punches look slow but he lands them. His chin is as sturdy as they come and he has a great engine for a heavyweight. His style might not be pretty but it's effective.

Personally I see it the other way, I think he's all wrong for Parker and will stop him.
