The difference for me is Ennis says he wants to fight Thurman but Benn goes after him personally, unless I've missed an article where Ennis attacks Thurman then I stand corrected. That's why I call Benn arrogant but we wait and see who Hearn delivers.

I'm not questioning his arrogance. But it's not a trait that's exclusive to Benn. Hearn can't deliver. You can't force people to fight, that don't want it. And that's not a slight on Thurman. It's like Benn acknowledges, Thurman isn't scared, it's just a fight that makes no sense for him. That doesn't reflect bad on Hearn, except in the eyes of those that would slate him.

Only Vergil Ortiz deserves a title shot. He at least got tested in Kavliauskas.
I doubt the other two, Ennis and Benn, want that kind of test.

The welterweight is in an abysmal state right now. The secondary players are all in waiting mode and want nothing to do with one another. Nobody knows how long they'll be waiting. The Spence/Crawford hasn't even been announced yet.

I'd rather not waste time mentioning Ennis and Benn. They're virtually nobodies at this point. I'd take some interest if they at least mention each other's name.

Benn’s right about one thing: all this talk about fighters being “scared” is ****** and doesn’t make sense.

When fights don’t happen, normally it’s the management/ promotional/ network being commercially “scared”, or the fighter thinking it’s not worth financially worth it. But obviously, the fighter’s sparred with almost everyone in and even outside their weight class, so…

George Foreman is on video saying that Tyson was scared of him.

An old article interview quoted Tyson as saying to someone, in a meeting with his team mentioning a superfight with Foreman, "why don't YOU fight that animal?"

I agree with you. But beating Eubank will do more for his career than beating love. Love hasn't done enough. But it's a good test. Eubank is a more tried and tested fighter at a higher level. But a massive risk because of the weight. I'm not in favour of this match up. It's being done out of a serious lack of options. If Benn could be matched against Thurman or Garcia, they wouldn't even be considering this. But we know he won't get those fights, so this is a left field move. Same as trying to get Ramirez. It's a thinking outside the box situation, because he can't get a big name at 147. And Love isn't established enough and is also a 140lbr.

Eubank Jr. is defintely a money-maker, but I can't see him fighting below 154, so that's a big move for Benn if he wants to go back to 147. What would a win @ 154, do for Benn's situation @ 147? Good question! I think if Benn were to beat Avanesyan, he would get a title eliminator from the WBC!
