Wood is getting screwed here. The original split was set at 60/40. They were happy with that. But suddenly it's changed to 75/25. Another bung by Haymon and Mendoza shows his true corrupted colours once again. I believe Wood will stick with it. Haymon is trying every dirty trick to make this one go away. And it's not as if LSC shouldn't beat wood. It's just that Haymon is so childish and petty and won't work with Hearn. You don't have to like him. Just get the business done.

I rhink you're missing the "big picture." If Mendoza is simply a puppet of Al Haymon, then why did they crown Wood with a secondary title LAST AUGUST? They were supposed to doing away with secondary titles, yet they created another one! Neither Xu Can, nor Wood are PBC fighters! They made Tank give away his title @ 140, and stripped Colbert of his secondary title too. The problem is the WBA, and the secondary titles! The WBA (Mendoza) is the disease. Haymon is just a symptom!

Well, LSC/Wood is going to a purse bid. Do you expect Wood to drop the title if Matchroom loses the purse bid?

He has the regular title, if he does not take the fight, the WBA may just strip him or maybe they can say they agree to step aside to allow LSC/Vargas. Though the WBA has already ruled against that unification bout.

Matchroom was certainly hoping that LSC would vacate the belt and take the Vargas fight but what is the play for Wood if not this fight? It looks like Warrington has to fight his mandatory so who can Wood fight next? I still think he should take this fight. If he beats LSC, that sets up a big fight vs Warrington, should he beat his mandatory.

The 75/25 split is less than ideal for Wood, but he can still end up getting a good payday. Not crazy to think Matchroom could bid like 2.5-3M for this fight. If they want it badly enough, Matchroom should bid a solid amount for this fight. It would be good for their UK subscribers.

Looking forward to seeing Leo fight quality opposition again. If you never really watched him fight, the Tank fight wasn’t his best.

The sport needs more quality guys like him fighting regularly.

I think this fight is gonna happen, regardless of the network. Hearn has wanted to bring a premier PBC fighter to DAZN, and maybe this could be the opportunity to do so.

For Wood, the long-term play is the Warrington fight. If he beats LSC in the U.S., I think he could use that to demand more money later. If he has to take short money vs. LSC, then so be it.

It would be a really solid fight so I hope it happens as well. Wood is on a nice run right now with an epic stoppage over Conlan in his prior fight. Make it happen!

Sorry Bronx but that's not accurate. The Haymon part is an opinion. But what is fact, is that Leigh Wood took the secondary title from Can Xu, before the pressure was put on the WBA from the ABC. So, another title wasn't created, it's the existing one. And the saga for the regular champion to try to become the super champion started before Wood appeared, as Xu was trying to get upgraded or fight LSC before that. It's time this consolidation fight happened for once and for all. If that super title was in the hands of another fighters hands of non PBC acquisition, they would have had to defend,or vacate a long time ago. See Josh Taylor for reference.

                    Typical Santa Cruz.
Gary Russel called him out for years and Leo ducked him like a plague.
Would have been a good name in his resume.

Leo's lucky this fight is even happening, they absolutely could have just stripped him and elevated Wood
