But a bunch of internet-promoters told me Tank isn't a draw, Floyd Mayweather is a bad promoter, etc...

Ryan is just admitting what those of us (who aren't in denial) know. Only Canelo is a bigger star than Tank.

Tank is a star in the US. He's not a worldwide star.

Canelo is an international star. But then so is Anthony Joshua even with losses.

I would argue that Deontay Wilder is a bigger star than Tank even with losses.

Star power is simply: would someone recognize you without accessing social media? That's not Tank.

Canelo, Reynoso and Hearn all admitted this morning that Tank is now bigger than Canelo.

By Ryan's standard, Bivol should be the face of boxing. Beating smaller men won't get his face on a box of Wheaties.

Ryan is very marketable and talented, but not sure how good or great he can be. He hasn't beaten anyone that is great but he's still young.

The face of boxing today, is it still Canelo after his defeat, or is it Tyson Fury who is sorta retired but not and would only come back once or twice more?

I don't know, there are other fine fighters like Crawford but they dont know how to promote themselves the way Mayweather did. Who can take over boxing, maybe Stevenson and Ennis. The heavyweight picture doesn't look good.
I know it pains a lot of salty vaginas in here but the potential is there for Ryan to become the face of boxing once Canelo retires. He has the boxing ability/style,looks,personality and the social media presence to do so,nearly a carbon copy of Oscar's rise. He's never going to have Canelo level head and waist movement or triple GGG's jab but what he does have(size, speed, power and boxing ability) he has in spades and will take him far.

As talented/skilled as Shakur,Vergil,Bam,Haney and or Ennis are ,or appear to be,,Ryan is clearly ahead of the class in terms of marketability. I'm sure Goosen is well aware of his defensive flaws and will be working on them but ultimately it's up to Ryan to implement it in the ring. Tie up those loose ends and it's a wrap for anyone at 135-140 imo.

Nether fighter is known to the wider sports seen, or arm chair boxing fans, untill garcia applies himself to boxing that won't change.

Haymon hoes with their stories. If Porky is the biggest star behind Canelo then the sport is in trouble. They hide is lousy PPV buys, you don't hide success.
