Again, stop getting all excited about a fighter who hasn't proven himself yet. They ALL get a chance to prove themselves at some point, his time just isn't right now- there's bigger fish to fry at 147.

You can mask your foolishness with your Sweet Pea memories....I'm talking about the present moment. Too many of you are using past standards to try and define what goes on in the sport today....it's okay to grow with the times. Yes, some things do change over time, but as we've seen in boxing....not much changes when it comes to how fickle fans are.
I don't care if Boots takes an "L" because I know what I see! Canelo has taken 2 Ls already, but he's still going to be a HOF fighter! It's not about his wins, it is HOW he wins! Jaron" Boots" Ennis will be champ @ 147 and 154 before he's all done, and probably 160 too!

You were the same guy arguing about being from the hood or something goofy like that- it had something to do with 50 Cent. I remember your goofy ass and that "discussion" we had when I was simply teaching you to let the past go and grow up.

      Yeah.....that was you!

I need to find something better to do with my time than entertain fools like you while trying to make sense. You'll never get it. Why don't I get that? Lol

Ennis feels different tho I think everyone feels hes going to be in that Roy Jones and Mayweather kind of league of talent
Yeah ennis could be and just from the eye test he looks better than early career berto just more dynamic and athletic he could be just one of these fighters who just comes in and takes over like floyd and RJJ did I mean every era has them special talents but time will tell. Keith thurman imo would bee a perfect measuring stick to see where this guy is or even porter if he didn't retire because if you can blow them guys out the water like the rest then you're making statements

If it was Berlanga and he had worked up to 30-0 with 79 total rounds while never going 12 I think people would be questioning that.

The quote should of ended with, " I'd fight him", " for 20 million dollars" if they don't offer me that, I will turn it down and say they don't want to fight. That's been Crawford's M.O his whole career, pay me what I'm not worth, and if you don't, I will just say they are ducking me and all my groupies will eat it up and call me " P4P best".... Look how long it's taking with Spence? It's all Crawford who's holding this up because he wants more than he deserves....

It'd be Rocha vs. Cobbs all over again.

As Shawn Porter said, Boots is overrated.
Eating flush punches?! Which fight did I miss? You act as if he's been troubled at some point. I can't even think of one ROUND that he's lost in his last 5 fights or so. "Chin up in the air eating flush punches for no damn reason" is one of the oddest things I've heard on this site

He is scary from the bottom looking up not the top looking down, Boots is showing great potential but hasn't fought anyone worth a fck, he should be blowing average comp away as that is what the top liners all do when they start out in their career then all of sudden as the class gets near the top the blowouts stop coming, its the natural progression of becoming a world champion of the highest level.

The manner of beating the competition matters though, to the eye test. Berlanga, for instance, I think is majorly overrated. Lots of bad habits even in his blowout knockouts of tomato cans. Doesn't know how to cut off the ring, loads up on his punches, and doesn't have basic skills like an educated jab, nor does he seem to be able to make adjustments.

In contrast, you see Boots demonstrate a number of skills in his wins, from taking angles to intelligent punch selection. If you're up against weak opposition, you should be able to show out, and people can also see whether you can showcase basic skills, like being defensively responsible or using different jabs to create entries and offense, evaluate footwork, see whether they've got the killer instinct, and other things more specific to the fighting style. If they're a counterpuncher, can they punch with their opponent? How do they do with timing? If they're a pressure fighter, can they cut off the ring? Do they use feints? Do they alter their speed and range to set up their power shots? How's their shot placement?

There's lots of things you can see fighters showcase even against weak opposition, and if they have the skills, they'll likely be able to hang against top opposition, because, as the adage goes, skills pay the bills. Then main questions become whether they have a chin (Amir Khan), and whether they're about to make adjustments.
