If Loma had Haney's belts, beating one bum for them, the whole white world would call him TBE. To those, I'd say YDKSAB.

Zero you say? How many boxers who never held a single belt make it into the HOF? I agree to an extent, belts these days are watered down, WBA and WBC especially. Yet they do represent something still, it's still a dream for almost any young man who chooses to lace up a pair of gloves. Garcia is far too obsessed with social media, he only says what he does because he has yet to actually earn a belt. Kambosos did something Garcia will never do, be the top dog of a weight class. He'll catch a beating far before that happens.Belts don't involve any kinda legacy. ZERO. They are tools to stiff and defraud hardworking boxers. None of these 100 trinkets are legit: Not a single one. Legacy is about providing for yourself and family well in this brutal sports, it's not about enriching crooks like Sulaiman and Mendoza.
Make your money, fight the best competition you can get, and get out before you become an invalid.
Screw the belts and their fake fans.Comment

Aside from the title of this article the kid actually had a point. Belts have in many ways hurt boxing. I recall the champions for a day era in the early 80s with guys like Tate, Tubbs, Weaver, Dokes, Coetzee, etc etc and we thought it was bad then having multiple champs, and then Holmes with the IBF making they title legitimate. Along came the wbo in the 90s and it being the belt for British champions we suddenly had 4 belts. and then it gets worse with franchise and super champions. It’s all out of control. Tank had what is seen as a secondary version of the wba title, yet he’s probably the biggest star in the division. If tank dumped that trinket, and he and Garcia fought, would it not still be a PPV event?Comment

Yeah another 200k or less PPV, might as well drop it, considering how "meaningless" it is. Yet he hangs onto it. I wonder why? Do you have a problem with him being labeled a 3 division champ? Of course you don't. We know he's not but a casual hears the Showtime crew scream about it while they knowingly lie. It's funny how opinions change when it comes to particualr fighters.Aside from the title of this article the kid actually had a point. Belts have in many ways hurt boxing. Last time I checked Devin used to be signed to Dazn and had a legitimate title. All the while, Ryan was the #1 challenger and there were no network impediments yet he still refused to accept the fight. I'm so ready for him to get his ass beat and just go away.Comment
