The Ortiz rematch makes sense since there's nothing to gain. But what were the other two offers?

A rematch with Victor Ortiz is high risk low reward for Maidana. Ortiz knocked down Maidana 3 times before doing a crash and burn and eventually wanting out of the fight

smart move for reasons you state plus imo ortiz schools maidana with the right gameplan in a rematch.
