Smart move. He just won a big fight why rematch the guy months later? look at Quintana he could have gone an become a top guy at WW after beating Paul Williams but he decided to give him a rematch months after and it was all over in 1 round for Quintana.
Maidana should move on and fight other dudes until a fight with Ortiz makes him more money.Comment

Second tehres a cloud over margaritos win.
Third at a similar age and similar number of fights Cotto endure in a way harder war against Ricardo torres and he didnt quitted like oRTiz, he fought back and won. Ortiz felt the fight wasnt going his way and he quitted. He wasnt even that badly beaten.Comment

Some of you ppl are ******, saying Cotto is a quitter when he was taking such punishment that his legs gave out and he took a knee but still wanted to fight and his ppl threw in the towel. And for all we know Margarito was cheating, unless you think Margarito only cheats against black fighters who are 36-37 yrs old and not a prime fighter like Cotto.
Neither Cotto nor Judah quit in their fights. Judah did not quit against Cotto, he took mad punishment just like Cotto did against Margacheato.Comment

how da hell did this become a cotto thread?
anyways, it makes business sense for Maidana to reject a rematch offer at this time
he's got Khan lined up for a big money fight and IF ortiz rebuilds his confidence and image, a rematch would generate more hype and money in the futureComment
