This opponent has a padded record. Lost by KO to the only real threat he fought. Only idiots will buy into the 12-1 record.

I can see that, but I would also say he's a tougher ask than Tommy Fury and would beat Tommy Fury.

His record is definitely padded and he's not every good but he's still by far the best opponent Paul will have faced and he's better than Tommy Fury.

Paul has faced 0 fighters with a win on their record, Fury has faced 4. Rahman has faced mostly bums but he's faced 11 fighters that have at least won a professional boxing match in their lives.

Yeah it’s not a bad pick as his first ever fight against an actual boxer.

Jake Paul has sparred with Rahman before. He takes calculated risks and must know how he stands against him already. Tommy Fury fought Anthony Taylor (MMA fighter & Jake Paul's regular sparring partner) on the undercard of Woodley / Paul's first fight and won by boring decision. Anthony Taylor is awful at boxing so I'm guessing Paul's team felt comfortable enough to setup that Fury fight that never materialized.

Also Rahman is not even on the same universe skill wise as his father. Name value and a pro record is enough for Jake Paul I suppose.
