  • Boxing fans are too negative

    seriously guys, we are.

I mean, this is a boxing match, yet were getting hung up on a fighter not making weight. its 2lbs, its not the biggest thing in the world.

the fact of the matter is that we have two incredibly skilled guys fighting tonight...guys worth watching no matter WHO they fight. And theyre fighting each other! Itll be worth watching and enjoying, thats for sure.

not to mention fights like Juarez-John II and Escobedo-Katsidis are going to be crackin fights, and are evenly matched.

lets stop getting hung up on details and be real boxing fans. just enjoy the great, intriguing matchups we have tonight.

I like black people and I like Irish people... I also like the numbers 1, 3 and 7.

    You're okay in my book.

its only 2 lbs in number, sure its not that big of a difference....

not unless your fighting a career featherweight with 2 fights at 135 having him fight a full fledged welter weight champion former junior middleweight champion at 147. nothing positive about that brah.

its a boxing match. for your entertainment. get the **** over it.
and Pacquiao did the same thing and dominated, dont act like boxing is all just size advantage.

not saying Marquez will win, but I think hes going to give Mayweather a handfull.

and we should just enjoy whatever happens. the amount of skill in that ring is huge!

Im just a white guy with a pretty dark tan who got the nickname in middle school and out of habit decided to continue using it for my internet exploits since I created my instant messenger account in middle school.

            Well, in that case,

why didn't you support my thread for Hopkins to face Mosley?

They are both top 5 pound for pound, it would be a boxing match, for our entertainment. I'm sure they could make a fight at 170.

            So what gives?

It wouldnt be my top choice as a fight, but yea, Id enjoy watching it if it DID someone get made.

but Hopkins' size advantage is much bigger than Mayweather's size advantage.
Hopkins 6' something to Mosleys 5'9
              Mayweathers 5'8 to Marquez's 5'6 or 5'7
Mosley would make a 23lb jump
              Marquez made a 10lb jump

None of that size stuff matters though,

as long as two top 5 pound for pound fighters are squaring off,

                  its good for the sport.

I don't even see the need for weight divisions, official weigh- ins or contracts.

Just get two dudes together and scrap.

If you can't see how this whole fiasco is a negative for the sport, then I'm sorry, but you're just flaking right now.

give me a break, youre just being a little ***** about the whole situation.

Mayweather simply couldnt make weight and had to get fined because of it. unprofessional, yep...but it happens, making weight can be tough. Mayweather is far from the first person to have trouble making weight. difference is he just took care of it behind the scenes, as opposed to being fined after weighing in over the limit a few times.

And why would Hopkins-Mosley be out of this world when Hopkins fought Tito and DLH?
I wouldnt want that matchp to be made, because they have better more entertaining opponents for each other...but yea, I wouldnt mind watching it.

the only reason that people dislike this matchup is because they think its a mismatch and Marquez wont do anything in it.
I guarentee that hes going to hold his own at least in a few rounds.
