Mayweather is far from the first person to have trouble making weight. difference is he just took care of it behind the scenes, as opposed to being fined after weighing in over the limit a few times.

And why would Hopkins-Mosley be out of this world when Hopkins fought Tito and DLH?
I wouldnt want that matchp to be made, because they have better more entertaining opponents for each other...but yea, I wouldnt mind watching it.

the only reason that people dislike this matchup is because they think its a mismatch and Marquez wont do anything in it.
I guarentee that hes going to hold his own at least in a few rounds.

You're true colors are shining bright today. I always figured you to be one of the rational ones,

but the ***** rainbow is flaming out of your ass right now.

Wow, so you guarantee hes going to hold his own in at least a few rounds,

    what a consolation.

If you don't see the trickery that was involved in all of this, then you're just as gullible as the kids on this board.

you gotta remember that this forum will be mostly frequented by boxing geeks, so to speak

and like all hardcore fanbases, whatever their chosen obsession may be, we overanalyse and debate every little detail which leads to us being a bit hyper-critical at times

...youre a delusional moron. Mayweather wouldnt pay 600k bucks as a 'trick' to have a 2lb higher weight advantage, especially not with his multiple lawsuits and tax problems floating around him.

I expect a competitive, entertaining fight...what more do you want?
and I expect good shows in the undercard...worth the effort of going to the movies to see this card in the first place.

I can understand that, hell I do it too, but when their overanalyzing gets to the point of ruining the enjoyment of watching boxing, they need to cut that **** out.

if the undercard was being shown all by itself, it would be considered a very good card on its own.

blackirish137, you're a vet here and a consistent poster and I like reading your posts. Respect. But I think you know that with Floyd, he's managed to get under people's skin for years now and this is just the lastest fuel added to the fire.

But I agree 100% with you that tonight should be a fun night to be a boxing fan. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of some boxing and probably enjoy the hell out of some tequila or rum and some cervezas to end the night.

I said the same thing in another thread. Boxing fans are the most fickle and a lot of times they would rather ***** about things, rather than watch the actual sport. I long for the day that we can just debate the actual fight in the ring and leave the outside bull**** alone.

I mean, this is a boxing match, yet were getting hung up on a fighter not making weight. its 2lbs, its not the biggest thing in the world.

the fact of the matter is that we have two incredibly skilled guys fighting tonight...guys worth watching no matter WHO they fight. And theyre fighting each other! Itll be worth watching and enjoying, thats for sure.

not to mention fights like Juarez-John II and Escobedo-Katsidis are going to be crackin fights, and are evenly matched.

lets stop getting hung up on details and be real boxing fans. just enjoy the great, intriguing matchups we have tonight.
I agree man, we finally get a PPV with a GREAT card and all people talk about is Mayweathers weight?, its dissapointing.

How about fighters taking on opposition in their own weight class?

Not making up weight classes and then purposely failing to honor that.

I expected more civility and integrity from you, but as I said, your true colors came flying through brightly today.

                    I agree with you, somewhat.

Given I don't like Floyd's antics and the weight issue in this fight, but hell ; that's boxing.

I'm not going to debate it any further or allow myself to spend more time thinking about the in's and out's of every detail as we've all done the previous weeks.

Whatever happens happens ; all I know is I'll be cheering for Marquez until the bitter end.

yea, the hilarious thing is that many people havenet even discussed the fight. they havent really analyzed any of the more specific movements and pros and cons of the fighter. they just get hung up on the weight difference and other bs thats unrelated.

cheers to you guys, who can enjoy actually enjoy a great card.

yea, youre being a bit of an idiot.

Mayweather vs Marquez isnt the best fight that could be made, no. but its still a hell of a matchup that I will fully enjoy.

to me, its not so much who wins thats important...but how the fight plays out thats the entertaining part. The little changes in strategy, how the fighters react to different situations, what punches land and which punches hurt...now THATS what its all about.

I mean, Im correct for a fair majority of my picks. that doesnt downgrade the enjoyment I have for the fight at all.
