It's proven that the Golovkin v Canelo fights are even BUT it's obvious that Canelo now has a slight advantage with the ageing Golovkin and how he looked last time out. With the Crawford v Spence fight it seems a equal affair and is hard to pick a winner .The intrique is as high as any fight and maybe even more so than the above mentioned that's already been seen.Hearn talks absolute bollocks and is promoting to the causals .Comment

GG and Canelo aren’t legends. GG, Canelo, Spence and Bud are great champions. Sugar Ray Leonard is a legend. Roberto Duran is a legend. Muhammad Ali is a legend. Henry Armstrong is a legend. There’s levels to this.Comment

You don't half talk a load of turd. Ok I'll entertain you on this one. Golovkin's last 3 fights; although he took a lot of shots he left Derevyenchenko looking like he got run over by a heavy goods vehicle at the end of the fight, Kamil Szeremeta got knocked down 4 times by GGG - by comparison Jaime Munguía couldn't knock him down at all and against Murata GGG took a few good shots in rounds 2 & 3 (while finding his rhythm) before being the first fighter to KO the Japanese Olympic gold medallist in all likelihood breaking his jaw in the process.
Now lets look at Canelo's last 3 fights... Ginger was getting boxed up by BJS - he lost rounds 5,6 &7, BJS was growing in confidence but made one error and lost the fight, it wasn't a sustained beating. Plant fought scared against Canelo but even so it was a close fight where Canelo was only a round or two up at the time of the KO, as usual it was another dull fight featuring Canelo (just like the Kovalev fight). Bivol played with Canelo - at times landing 5-6 punch combinations at his big steroid head before easily winning the fight 118-110...
GGG has never been even remotely close to being stopped, what makes you think its gonna be now when Canelo can't finish off the likes of Callum Smith? GGG is a master of distance and when he does get tagged he is always in position to fire back with with hard shots of his own. Do you remember when Canelo's jab hand went limp after taking a G right hand in round 10 of the rematch? Or when Canelo's lead foot buckled forward after he ate a solid right hook in round 11? Don't be surprised if you see your husband on the canvas at some point!Comment

Your a marketers dream lol "oh the resume, but his resume says"... The way a fighter fights is what makes them a legend! Everything from the belief in his chin, his subtle defensive movements, his balance, his movement, ability to cut off the ring, carrying power in both hands, not smothering his work, being the most prolific jabber in boxing and having the ability to place/curve hooks around a guard.
I'd even argue someone like Emanuel Augustus was a legend. Although he was a journeyman who lost 34 fights his dancing style was truly unique - even Mayweather Jr said that was one of his most difficult fights.Comment

How do you know? Canelo-Yildirim was on regular DAZN, which doesn't release subscription numbers, while Spence-Ugas was Showtime PPV. The live gate was undoubtedly bigger for Canelo-Yildirim than Spence-Ugas which had a gate of just $2.2 million. Canelo-Yildirim drew a bigger live crowd when boxing was still very constrained by COVID restrictions. We don't know DAZN subscription rates during that time (the Yildirim fight was probably not a major driver of subscriptions), but Spence-Ugas only had 240K PPV buys, so its hard to imagine that Spence-Ugas brought a bigger haul.Last edited by TheOneAboveAll; 07-06-2022, 12:01 PM.Comment
