That's not true ; Hopkins does have fans. Evidence of this can be seen whenever he fights on the east coast, and particularly close to Philly. Such as Tito, Tarver, and Kelly.

Bernard's fans are a small group, though. Similar to Mosley's fanbase in size ; very small when compared to some of the more popular figures out there that dot the boxing landscape.

Absolutely agreed. And then when you look at Marquez's losses, that factors in as well. His pro debut really can't be held against him, 1st off. Secondly ; I had him beating Chris John by 2-3 points and many others did as well. Norwood was a garbage fight. And then the SD loss to manny that a lot of people thought he won as well.

He'd definitely be a strong contender for fighter of the decade with a win over Floyd, and I would begin to compare him even further with another Mexican great whom he reminds me so much of ; Ricardo Lopez.

They fail to realize that IMO Hopkins has the best defense in the sport. Also, watching Wlad owns and others go from saying how Pavlik would "embarrass, ****, brutalize, and KO Hopkins ending his career" to disowning him completely and saying that he was an embarrassment to his slavic heritage was ****in priceless.

Bookies don't give odds more than about 5 or 6 to one, now, because of the Tyson/Douglas fight.

If Marquez manages to pull off the upset here, considering what we've heard now about FMJ deliberately not making weight, it would be about as big as any upset in the history of the sport, maybe the biggest.

Marquez has almost no chance at all. If I were to give realistic odds, I'd say his chance at a win here is maybe 1 in 200.

I'm sure Marquez feels his chances at an "upset" are exactly 100%, which is the only reason there's any chance at all. Mayweather will have to knock him out cold (or kill him) to stop him, because JMM will get up and fight again no matter how many times he goes down. In fact, if FMJ puts JMM on his shorts a couple of times early, it could be the very thing that makes FMJ overconfident and gives JMM the opportunity at a KO win, which would be the only chance he has at all.

32:1 is about how many people bet on Tyson v how many people bet on Douglas, plus Douglas actually had added motivation with his mom and all...which usually plays a factor, see DLH.

What we have here is a 2 weight class disparity with a guy who's never even been close to this weight in his entire career.
