Will he still have power at 154lbs?

I don't believe it. I think he just wants more money. The guy fights no more than once a year, I don't think he actually cares about a legacy. He's most likely going to bag up some more money and keep investing. He can talk about wanting to be great, I think that's just lip service to his fans.Comment

Ike Quartey lost to the top fighters of his era - he's in the Hall of Fame.
Manny Pacquiao lost to the best of his era AND a select few other top guys. He's in it.
We need to get realistic on the criteria. It's not about wins and losses. It's about what you left in the ring en route to your retirement.
Thus why someone like Sven Ottke (undefeated) isn't in but Manny Pacquiao (multiple losses) is.
Danny Swift made history when he beat Khan. That cannot be taken from him.
Whether he'll succeed at 154 is a different story - but the guy at least is a warrior.
What history was made?Comment

Dumbest damn thing is when two Welterweights are moving into the 154 pound division and neither one of them is fighting a natural 154 pound fighter. Each should have fought a natural 154 pound fighter to see where they stand.Comment

We, we, we =---> my guy, lol.
Let's be honest though, Danny is moving up because he has to. He's been run out of 147 and can't beat the big names there and that's a fact.
Garcia is no Cotto skill wise, Cotto could brawl but he could box too. Look at his days in the amateurs and Cotto could box and he did use those skills when he needed them in the pro's. Garcia is going to get blistered at the bigger weights. Not sure Benavidez is the man to do it considering he's just moved out of 47 himself, but don't be surprised to see another loss for Danny Boy.Comment

What the crud kind of history did Garcia make by beating Khan? Khan!! Of all people!!
Everything else you wrote makes sense and is super logical.

Even though they're both moving up in weight, he better not look past Benavidez. He looked like ish in his last fight against a nobody after that long layoff, but even with one good leg, Benavidez has the length and the skills to give Garcia problems. If Benavidez can muster up any bit of the fight he gave Crawford, he can pull off the upset here.Comment

I'm going to be honest =---> the reason I mentioned Cotto is because Cotto got ran out of 47 like Danny did. In fact, Cotto got run out of 140 by Torres too. Torres was sooo close to putting Cotto away that after that scare they fed Cotto Branco and Malignaggi =---> two feather-fisted fighters. The climate in 2005-2006 when Cotto fled 140, you had Tszyu, Castillo, Hatton, Witter (undefeated at that time). Those were not the fights a Cotto was looking forward to as a 26-0 fighter. In the end, he made great career moves because if he hung around at 40 or 47 too long, we wouldn't have seen him in the much better fights. Smart guy, great talent.Comment
