Lmao…the biggest draw and cash cow of boxing supposedly gives in to a promoters wishes - classic and hilarious! Does Canelo kmow how
absurd that is…makes himself look weak and pathetic with that statement. Cant lose the “star power” with back to back losses to Bivol…so take the easy fight with a fading 40 yr old who will be at a huge weight disadvantage in the ring. Real courageous Canelo.

Canelo loses to bivol, but goes for Golovkin instead. In both of Joshua's fights,he was at least competitive in certain areas, being able to drop ruiz and actually win some rounds off of usyk. Meanwhile canelo had no answers for bivol, and many people had him winning around 2 rounds. Hearn saw what we all saw. Canelo was outsized, outmaneuvered, outworked, and beaten to the punch with every exchange. They might be hoping that Artur and bivol beat the snot out of each other, and canelo can go back in and pick up the leftovers.
The detail you, and many others, miss here is that they have already had an agreement with GGG for trilogy. It's actually a known fact before the Bivol fight. Thus realistically the rematch is bound to happen next year, in the Spring as mentioned in this article. I guess that's pretty quick enough. Besides, Canelo is one of few top fighters who fights on regular basis, at least twice a year.

Don't mind them, it's all in line with the ludicrous anti Canelo sentiment. Seemly being successful triggers hatred by some folks.

No excuse, or defence can't be given for making a fellow fighter wait 4 years for a trilogy fight, one of which was the wider boxing fan base.

Arm chair boxing fans wanted to see it, once again egos and boxing shoots itself in the foot

I don't think he can make 160 any more. Even as a 23 and 24 year old JMW he was rehydrating up to the low to mid 170s and he's naturally thickened some as he's matured. Likely he's coming to the ring in the mid to high 170s now and he's in his 30s where you simply can't healthily lose 15+Lbs water weight for the scales without it affecting your performance.

Reckon he should stick at 168 and make dudes come to him... maybe try 175 again in a coupla years if a more beatable champion emerges or Beterbiev declines with age.

Or perhaps the anti Canelo sentiment comes from the entitlement he’s received from title organizations, maybe it’s the blatant favoritism he gets from judges in multiple fights, perhaps it’s his disrespectful attitude towards other boxers such as Andrade, plant and Ggg, maybe it’s the fact that he was caught cheating. I could go on but point being, there are many reasons fans may dislike canelo other than some who may be triggered by his success.

I've been a Canelo fan for his entire career, but I really would love to see GGG beat him emphatically in September. Canelo's personality has changed with global stardom and he's become somewhat of an arrogant douche. Getting his comeuppance against Bivol doesn't seem to have brought him back down to earth, so here's hoping GGG will. Win or lose, I believe this trilogy fight will be the best fight of the series. Soo many people on this site sleeping on GGG.
