Comments Thread For: Murodjon Akhmadaliev Drops, Stops Ronny Rios in Twelfth Round

Murodjon Akhmadaliev delivered an emphatic reminder that the top spot at junior featherweight is very much up for grabs. The unbeaten WBA/IBF titlist defended his title in style, breaking down Ronny Rios en route to a stoppage in the 12th round. Akhmadaliev floored Rios midway through the final round, with an ensuing attack forcing referee Rafael Ramos to stop the bout at 2:06 of round twelve in their DAZN co-feature Saturday evening at Tech Port Arena in San Antonio, Texas.

MJ has literally no head defense, only foot movement, and that will cost him. Fulton will exploit that to the fullest.

This fight here solidified my belief that MJ doesn’t have what it takes to beat Fulton. Fulton has shown that he’s a clutch performer against Figueroa and that he can also box circles around his opponent like he did against Roman. Fulton by late round TKO.

Is MJ a free agent or what? He won his belts on PBC and now his was on Matchroom.......and a unification would mean going back to PBC.

Either way, I was impressed with MJ after he beat Roman....tonight, not so much. Fulton will clearly beat him.

I don't mind if I never see this guy again ever. Stiff, one dimensional, uninspiring.

What are you talking about? MJ won his belts on DAZN against Danny Roman, Roman is the one who switched to PBC.

I didn't think he beat Roman and he certainly won't beat Fulton if that fight gets made.

Roman was already with PBC, Matchroom won a purse bid for the fight I believe.

Eddie Hearn said on twitter there'd be no obstacles to making a unification fight. Not entirely sure I believe him as it would require MJ fighting on Showtime in a fight he'd be a sizable underdog in, but it's not like MJ is some kind of big attraction so hopefully the risk/reward is enough to let the fight happen.

That being said I view Fulton as a top p4p guy and he'll beat MJ but there's no way it's not a fun fight. Hope it happens.
