To be fair, Golovkin's opponents haven't been of that great quality since the second Canelo fight, but Murata was a decent opponent.

In terms of payday, I don't think Golovkin needs this money. He got paid so much by Dazn already. But with the closely fought fights they had, it's not bad at all for them to have one more fight.

I think it is probably Gennady's final fight, win, lose or draw.

Murata was a shlt opponent, and Timidkin had to continue ignoring TWO much better champions in order to select that scrub

Timidkin kept himself safe, while he waited for another payday from Canelo.... 100%

Here's what was actually said:

Before COVID-19 shut down sports, the plan reportedly had been for Golovkin to defend his IBF middleweight title against Szeremeta at the beginning of the summer and for Alvarez to challenge WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, on May 2. A Canelo-GGG 3 showdown would be the type of fight to help jump-start the sport for the remainder of the year in a big way. Banks says Golovkin has attempted to make the third fight in the past but got rebuffed by Alvarez.

"When we went to Canelo and said we're ready, he said 'no, I don't want to fight,'" Banks said. "He disappeared and went and did whatever he wanted to do and refused the fight. Now he's saying he's ready after this pandemic, 'let's do it.'"

Johnathon Banks, a former cruiserweight contender and the current head trainer to Golovkin revealed he is not on board with such a fight should it have to be his first of 2020.
