Comments Thread For: Arum: Might Be Worthwhile for Kambosos To Take a Tune-Up Instead of Immediate Rematch With Haney

Bob Arum is not so sure that it is in the best interest of George Kambosos to dive immediately into a rematch with Devin Haney. Kambosos, the Australian native, lost a unanimous points decision to Oakland's Haney in their undisputed 135-pound title fight earlier this month at Marvel Stadium Melbourne, Australia. In order to challenge Kambosos, who had the WBO, WBA, and IBF lightweight titles, Haney, who had the WBC belt, needed to agree to give Kambosos an immediate rematch in the event that Haney defeated the Aussie.

lol .. better for Arum .. he's stuck with a turkey of a fight now, probably best to offer a load of cash and do Loma instead but can he afford that?

Wish he could do Kambo vs. Loma in Australia, and Haney vs. Stevenson in the States!

Yes, that would be 2 great matchups . A good fight for Loma to comeback on . Kambosos is tough, but his skill level is nowhere near Loma's . It would be a good workout for Loma. Then Loma vs the winner of Stevenson vs Haney.

Grandpa Arum trying to shake things up again.
Things that he didn't earn and just flew magically on his lap
          in mysterious circumstances.

I'm sure Kambosos and Haney want none of Bobfather's silly ideas.
They'd rather get over with the rematch, then move on win or lose.

Silly disruption in a sport where time is of no value, where fights get uselessly marinated.

Exactly! That would be great for all 4 fighters!

You say this like that’s a good thing. If the fans are left to watch a “turkey of a fight” what is there to “Lol” at?

Crazy. How people blatantly show us how they support companies instead of fighters. I dunno whether to laugh or cry.

Who put together that 2 fight deal, with BOTH fights having to take place in Australia, in the first place?

Come on.....a tune up fight isn't going to help Kambosos. Just get this rematch out of the way. Isn't it Bob's fault that there was a rematch clause? Hope he gets taken to the cleaners financially lol. Nobody wants to see it.

Don't know if Kambosos would want to risk Haney losing all those titles against another foe. Boxing is the theater of the unknown and anything can happen.
