Comments Thread For: Beterbiev Trainer on Smith Fight: Artur Has a Little Bit More Boxing Ability

Marc Ramsay believes Joe Smith Jr.'s aggressive strategy against his charge, Artur Beterbiev, was akin to rolling the dice. Beterbiev, the Montreal-based Russian, broke down Smith of Long Island in two rounds in their WBC, WBO, and IBF 175-pound title unification fight last Saturday at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Beterbiev dropped Smith three times in a fight many expected would end in a knockout, given that both fighters are known for their punching prowess.

Top Rank arranging and announcing Beterbiev's next fight without even letting Beterbiev or his trainer know the plans.

Canelo fought Kovalev because he was by far the weakest link. He fought Bivol because he felt (wrongly) that he was the second weakest link . There was no way he was choosing Beterbiev or Smith, the power puncher's of the division. All this " he was daring to be great " hogwash , is just that , hogwash. He thought he'd power his way through Bivol easily. Just like the oddsmakers who set him at a 5-1 favourite, and every other expert in the boxing world had him. Easily 95% of the boxing world had Canelo stopping Bivol BEFORE the fight happened. AFTER the fight, everyone was talking a different story. Like "Oh , he was daring to be great " . All it was , was another " cherry pick " but this time it was a cherry pick gone wrong. Don't ever buy into the Canelo fraud train. It very calculated and criminal.

ok, Beterbiev and Bivol probably don't move up to Cruiserweight either.

                It's "criminal?"

Regarding Canelo-Bivol, 95% of the boxing world who had never seen Bivol fight picked Canelo by stoppage.

Seriously? Marc Ramsay isn’t new, he’s trained a bunch of former champs. Jean Pascal, David Lemieux, worked with Adonis Stevenson, Eleider Alvarez big list.
