Their pre-fight trash talk didn’t look phony to me. Nova seemed serious, and Ramirez had this look like “we’ll see who’s who in the ring.” The way Robeisy reacted after the KO seemed to confirm my impressions. Whatever the case, I was happy to see Ramirez fight aggressively and close the show early with an emphatic shot.

Andre Ward was put off by Nova's arrogance. He said Nova went in there thinking he is bigger and stronger and had more fights but Ward knew that a guy with Ramirez background can take away his size and make him look like he has the shorter reach and that is what Ramirez did, emphatically. He shut up that loudmouth Nova.

I remember we talked back when he had that first loss. Everything went wrong for him leading up to that first fight but something told me that fight lit a fire in Martinez and it did in a big way. That motivation will last him the rest of his career. He is one of my 3 favorite fighters; love his attitude, his style, everything about him. He is very smart and his game is on. He is a bonified contender now.

It would be a shame to see anyone, much less a double Olympic champion, destroy their potential because of substance abuse issues. (Just conjecture here, by the way, I have no idea if the rumors were true.) Anyway…that performance last night was worthy of Robeisy’s pedigree. He did what he needed to do and then some. A one-punch KO like that in the early rounds tends to catch people’s attention. Very curious now to see who’s next.

I hope he stays with good eating and training habits. He's 28 now so there is still time for him if he physically holds up after all the AM fights he has had.

His age concerns me just a little. Robeisy started his pro career relatively late. At 28, he only has 11 professional fights. Ramirez doesn’t look ready to me to take on the big names in the division yet. At the rate pro boxers fight these days, he may not be ready until he’s at least 30. How many good years would he then have left?

Very impressive win for Ramirez. I was concerned about the big size advantage Nova had going in, but Robeisy handled that no problem at all. Abraham is no slouch, but Ramirez blasted him out of there in stunning fashion. I have to admit my confidence in Robeisy was shaken with that debut loss he took. It made me question his dedication, his work ethic. But he erased all that last night. Wow. “The Train” is definitely on track.

Yeah... I was super excited about Robeisy turning pro but that debut loss has cast a long shadow... I think though after watching him go from strength to strength Im finally ready to chalk that one down to debutante's nerves or somesuch. Very, very impressive performance last night.

I thought that loss make him better for future fights. That night he wasn't in the fight, he looked too cute, with hairdo and all the other $h1t, like he was in a movie set and not in a fight. I told my son I didn't like his attitude and projection, after the fight I say that he was going to change trainers and attitude, or he was finish.
