Smith by KO is a good bet

    8/1

    5/1 victory.

The odds should be considerably closer than this. Worth a few bucks imo

If he wins it's by KO I reckon, so you might as well go with the 8/1 if you think he's got a reasonable shot. Slim chance though in my book... probably the bookies got it about right... not sure I'd even take it at that though. Artur's stronger and a much better boxer with far more options in the ring. Joe might, maybe, match him in one punch power under ideal circumstances - if he can land it - but Artur can and will land damaging shots from anywhere, close or mid, from angles, up and down.

What I would say though is if you were gonna go with Joe and want to increase your payout go with a first half KO. Artur is a ferocious body puncher and his pressure and thudding power makes guys wilt, but he's also a bit of a slow starter. Unless Joes team are daft they want to have told him to throw the kitchen sink early whilst he's still got his strength and speed and before Artur's had chance to work him out and find his rhythm.

He has 2 rounds to make a Hail-Mary happen, then it's game over ...

        20-1 odds on a KO within 6.

I just think this is a bad style matchup for Artur.

        We’ll see!!

Thinking of putting a bit down on the under 8.5 at +100.

Puncher vs puncher fights are open to any scenario. Beterbiev is better boxer tho.

Wasn’t expecting this result at all tbh

I thought the most likely outcome was Beterbiev scoring a late KO by grinding Smith down. The American has always shown to be durable.

I did think there was realistic chance of Smith catching him and hurting him. Johnson landed multiple right hands and left hooks and had Beterbiev badly hurt (he recovered astonishingly quickly).

I was definitely expecting it to go longer, but I think by pushing the early pace - which he kinda had to - Smithy gave Artur the openings which otherwise he would have been more patient in creating. As I kinda said above Joe's best - indeed only - real shot was throwing it all in early, but that also made the ending come all the sooner. TBH though looking to Joe's future this may have been for the best, assuming and praying he's OK now... a sustained beating over 6 or 7 rounds might have been more damaging in the long term.

A friend asked me if he should put something on Smith and I didn't recommend it but said who knows, Smith is a durable guy with a lot of power.

I'm glad I told him not to bother though, that fight was quicker and more one-sided than I expected.
