Beterbiev vs Smith... Why is it not a BIGGER event?

Damn, I forgot about Beterbiev likely not getting love because of *****'s ignorant ass. Besides that, Artur has not been exactly built up and given a lot of promotion. He's kind of this silent killer that only die hard fans have even heard of. Cheap Unca' Bob hasn't put forth much effort at all to promote this fight. If it weren't for BS, how many of us would even know about it?
Considering Russia is blowing up Ukranian children and pregnant mothers in schools and hospitals at the moment, not a great sell right now in the States know what I'm saying?
A Russian killer who's like a 9-1 favorite against a construction worker, yea 40 bucks sounds about right.Comment

I have a theory on this. I believe Bob knows the market, he's a genius at this stuff.

1. There are a few historically less popular divisions throughout history. In this order imo =---> Cruiser, SMW, and LHW.
I know SMW has been better since the Super 6, but history wise it's been dead more than it's been not. LHW is the more popular of the bunch, but I don't think most people outside of boxing gearheads think about that division much. It's very fringe.
2. Reiterating, the Russia thing.
3. Beterbiev has little to no future. Let me explain =---> he's 37. Up until 2019, who's really heard about Beterbiev? Most recognizable name on his record is Cloud. Most people probably see him as another Russian who's beating up nobodies and we're watching and waiting. To no fault of his own, just circumstance right?
So hypothetically let's say he runs through Smith, Ramirez, and Ramirez =---> where does he go from there and how old is he then? Even those fights, how sellable are they to the public? Who's going to pay 69.99 ppv for Beterbiev vs Bivol?
Say he beats them all, is Canelo going to jump into that Sarlacc Pit? No! Is Beterbiev going to move up to a no money CW division or chance it all moving down which is surely suicide? Maybe go nuts and try a HW run and a la Usyk??
To be honest, Bob keeping his costs down and just observing the market as Beterbiev moves along is a pretty smart move. If he see's on opportunity to strike, I'm sure he will. But to friviously spend on something that there is a high probability of little returns isn't a dumb move and to me doesn't make him cheap.Comment

It ‘s Just the way the cookie crumbles
But the few casuals who fall on this , will become fans
Maybe the Bobfather is building up Beterbiev by keeping this free
I’m quite certain that Bivol’s name will be mentioned often

Canadian ...Mauricio Sulaiman: "He has been in Canada for 15 years, he lives in Canada, his children were born in Canada, he has a Canadian passport and Canadian residency and a boxing licence from Canada,"

...because it is Light Heavyweight
this Division just never been respected honestly going all the way back to Spinks ERA when he was king but nobody cared because all the attention was on Hagler at the time, 4 King and if Ray was going to come back and fight Hagler
so yeah Boxing have these Divisions that unfortunately not a lot of people care about and 175 always been one of them

I know what you're saying, but Bob could have spent a little more to promote Beterbiev when he was younger and KOing everyone. For some reason, he decided not to do it, perhaps as you say, he didn't feel like Artur nor the LHW division was marketable. the same lack of promotion was the case with Crawford, whom Arum also claimed was unmarketable. I do understand that Bud has a pretty dry demeanor which doesn't attract attention, but shouldn't a master promoter like Arum have strategies for fighters like that- Sensational in the ring but lacking in personality and self-promotion skills?

Because for it to be a huge event you need it to crossover to the casual fan . The casual fan does not know how either one of these guys is, I am personally looking forward to this one
