I had it 6-4 Berlanga , it's clear to me he's by far the most hated on Boxer currently most want him to lose so bad they'll give close rounds to his opponents . I did think Angulo had the fight with-in his hands after a really good 4th round . Had he continued he probably could've Drop/hurt maybe even KO'D Berlanga but instead he let his foot of the gas. Ended up letting Berlanga win a couple rounds just by simply out working him with the jab .

If they jump one more level like say a Jesse Hart Berlanga most likely taking a big L unless he improves , which I did think he showed some improvements against Angulo . We gotta remember dude barely has any pro experience his first 16 fights did him no good. He's learning now what he should've learned his first 12-15 fights . Guy needs to be taken off Main Events for 3-4 fights become more of a finished product then Step up against a Jesse Hart otherwise his career going to continue downhill

      I feel you man.
As far as hate for him, far from me and never do I "hate" any fighter. Criticize yes, Hate of course not.

Anyways, Yeah I mean, Berlanga has a LONG way to go to really have a chance at the top. It all depends but, I think Top Rank will continue matching him up with beatable opponents for a while, if not, as you said, he may get a loss soon.

Berlanga barely got the decision and any combination of the result would had been fine. He looks indecisive and is thinking too much in the ring. I don't see him improving in the near future and the power that he is known for has not showed up in his last few fights.

I had it 5-5, both guys fought terribly to be honest.

Right, I think his power hasn't shown up much because his last couple opponents are more boxers as opposed to sluggers toe-to-toe.

This is exactly where Berlanga needs to grow.
Let's see what is next for the young prospect

That is why I mentioned earlier in this thread that BOTH are D minus level fighters.

Skill-wise they are at that level. No one should have expected any type of elite or high status skills in this fight generally-speaking.

That's a good question. If anything I think Angulo "beat" Berlanga, however there's a solid argument for either one getting the nod on the scorecards, but the official scores were terrible. There was no way Angulo was getting a decision win with those judges.

Berlanga needs to take a step back in competition. He doesn't look like a fighter that has had 19 or 20 fights. He may need a Chavez Jr. or Mungia (at 160) treatment were he's fed guys that give him experience without beating him. If he keeps stepping up at this pace he's going to have a pretty bad loss soon enough.

                    Very well said!

Yeah the cards were definitely terrible man.

Yeah I think that if Berlanga keeps climbing up the ladder, he will get beat soon.
I mean, I kind of think Top Rank will keep babying Berlanga and keep hyping him up but we'll see.

EB's jabs were really not so educated and his defense was quite poor on the inside. His punch selectiona nd combos are HIGHLY limited as well.

I had Angulo winning and the scorecards should have been more on Angulo's side.

                      Your thoguhts.
                      Rene,
If you could, post up the official rule book of what all judges use when judging a fight... Oh wait, that would be impossible because there is no such accessible guideline. There is no transparency in scoring boxing matches. Judges do not have to justify conclusions, there is no oversight from other neutral judges, no reply, no committee that punishes bad decisions...

Under these conditions it must be concluded that judges want no transparency, that boxing does not want transparency. So regardless of what anyone thinks, we are stuck in a system that works to advance certain fighters regardless of who wins the fight.
