Fundora just came out and said he can make 147 and wants to challenge Spence/Crawford winner. That won't happen because they'll be moving up. So what do you think about if Fundora went down to 147 and fought Vergil Ortiz?

All wrong stylisticly for Vergil.
Fundora will get a challenge at Middleweight or SMW.
But i don't see him losing at 154.
Specially not at 147. -
Well he's young and came in at 152 in his last fight so he could probably make 147 comfortably. You don't think Boots sparks him out? He tends to get his ALOT. That's why I said Ortiz because I feel like Boots will dance and hit him all night long until he foldsComment

I think Lubin hots just as hard as Boots and he was barely able to put a dent in Fundora.
I honestly dont see anyone but MAYBE Spence ( because of his physicality ) beating Fundora below 154.Comment

I wanted to say Ennis but I think Fundora getes hit too much and fights up close and Ennis would just pick him apart. AND we've never seen Ennis hurt. Ortiz has been hurt so it makes a more intriguing fight IMOComment

Vergil is quite affective at grinding down his opponents if you watch his latest fights. In the Maurice Hooker bout, Mighty Mo used his reach more affectively compared to when he competed at 140 but after Ortiz landed several body shots he started to wilt until he gradually was getting overwhelmed. In the Egis Kavaliauskas bout, Mean Machine buzzed Vergil by landing multiple clean shots, after falling down he turned the tides by landing a body shot that made him backpedal until the end of the round, after that round Mean Machine is gradually throwing less precise shots if you see the statistics that Ortiz landed 148-of-389 total punches (38%) compared to the 75-of-391 (19.2%) of Kavaliauskas. Mean Machine got knocked down five times with one of them being caused by a body shot. Both Solomon and Orozco were slowed down significantly via body shots as well until Ortiz cornered them and went head hunting.
Fundora has more deficiencies as a fighter, despite his size he doesn't seem to utilize it well and does get caught clean often, but to give him credit the only time he was ever knocked down was by Lubin who is a hard hitter that has knocked out all of his hardest opposition. In this bout I do believe that Ortiz will be more defensively responsible compared to the Towering Inferno's latest opponent although despite that he has defensive skills he is prone of uppercuts due to using his high guard often which is Fundora is well known for.
