So Ring update rankings every month
Thats what P4P really is, the idea of the best fighter one on one if they were the same size, doesn't mean anything its a fantasy rating.

It's just am arbitrary list. Put as much stock as you like in it. Its meant to be for fun.

But i see no problem with having Inoue 1st. He's the goods.

Once you’re in the P4P top 10, any win will move you up. Any win. It’s crazy. They even moved Crawford up for beating Kell Brook, a guy outside of Ring’s top 10 at 147.

I wonder if they will move Canelo above Estrada if he beats 40 year old GGG? Probably not, because GGG is 40 lol. They pick and choose who to move up and when, there is no actual formula used. It’s just who ever is the most likable.

        1. Donaire getting KO’ed by Walters, losing to Rigondeaux in a schooling, losing to Magdeleno widely, losing to Frampton widely, kinda puts him well below GGG.

        2. GGG and Donaire have completely different chins.

        3. Canelo also started at 147. Any KO’s he can get from 154 to 175 would be a bonus for him with his stature.

        4. Forget GGG’s chin, Canelo is not exactly a KO artist anyway. You can’t take his power lightly, but he isn’t a KO artist. Inoue is. KO’ing a 40 year old fighter, even if he used to be good, you still KO’ed a 40 year old past prime fighter with his wife at his corner.
they will absolutely move canelo above estrada if he demolishes ggg. fact is he just got beat decisively by bivol, and it wasnt even close.

donaire’s losses were wgt classes above bantam. he was also fresh off of KOing gaballo and oubaali, who were both top 10 ranked. ggg has never gone up like donaire, nor has he looked as good as donaire recently. inoue destroyed donaire, and as of his career, he has won/defended his belt 20 times in a row, demolishing every opponent he’s ever faced. no one else has done that.

i’m sure thats those factors played into how ring made their decision. but for some people, reasoning doesn’t matter… because they’re unable to see beyond their biases.

You're really not implying that although Nonito and GGG are 39/40, they're at the same level? GGG is a much better fighter now then Nonito was the night he was knocked out.

This is ridiculous. I'm not hating on Inoue, and I think he's P4P boxer. However, I can't see how he moves up after that win. I really can't. Yes, Nonito won a belt. I get that, but at the same time this is a guy that Inoue stopped already. He already beat Nonito. So they are saying that you can fight the same guy again and again, and if you keep kicking his ass, you keep moving up the P4P rankings. How does that work?

This fight doesn't move the needle for Inoue. It really doesn't.

So that's why some might think you can make case for bud being no1 as they thought he'd beat Nell if he was Nelo size, even with buds resume being inferior? But that's a bit unfair to Nell putting such faith in what bud can do. Best spence first at very least

Yes I don't think P4P has ever been achievement or belt collecting its always been more a fantasy fight with all things equal that's why its called pound for pound, which is weight, equal weight.

Since when has fairness ever come into boxing fans' opinions, that's a rare comodity.

                    - - What, U ain't never moved passed 3rd grade?

Inoue had to gut out his busted face to win vs Nonito who goes on to KO an undefeated WBC champ and KO another undefeated in his first defense. 99.8% of the boxing fraternity were jazzed over the rematch. 0.02% of 3rd grade grumps don't mean squat.
