"The London-bred heavyweight contender has touched down in Miami for his upcoming challenge of unbeaten secondary WBA titlist Trevor Bryan." This article is dated today. I hope Dubois didn't just arrive here. It's an 8+ hour flight and a 5 hour time difference. He'll be jet lagged as hell tomorrow.

I thought the WBA already mandated the winner of this fight & Hughie/Hunter to fight next? Helenius actually was mandated to fight Hughie but he declined so Hunter took his place. I can’t keep up to all this WBA stuff… I think I got a WBA belt somewhere in the attic at my parents house….
The winner of this fight is the mandatory. That's the consolidation process the WBA set out for reducing titles The interims are mandatory to the regular, and the regular is mandatory to the Super. Robert Helenius also won an eliminator. It doesn't mean much. Anybody can buy an eliminator from the WBA, their so corrupt. The winner of this fight will be the guy that gets the shot at, as it stands, Usyk. Neither are worthy of it. But that's a different story lol.Last edited by joe strong; 06-10-2022, 01:36 PM.Comment

Dubois just reminds me so much of Errol Christie. All you hear is how talented he is, etc etc. He certainly has talent but he is, IMO, over-muscled & his defence is poor. I'm just not convinced by Dubois. I hope that his people will learn lessons but I'm not convinced they will. I think they think the Joyce loss was a 'blip'. They won't/can't learn from it. Errol's people were convinced he was the next World Middleweight Champion, when they realised he wasn't they dropped him like a stone in a well.Comment

I cannot imagine many British people traveling to watch Tyson Fury in america. Most of his supporters were American, during the Wilder trilogy.
Tyson Fury in my opinion has near enough cracked America, pretty much on the same level as Prince Naseem Hamed.
Lennox Lewis fought in America a lot, but I don't think he built a rapport with fans. People respected him, but they wanted him to get beat.
America during the 90's had plenty of heavyweights to support. Great characters with ability like Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Tommy Morrison, Rid**** Bowe, George Foreman, Ray Mercer, Michael Moorer 'Lennox Lewis was competing against them all'.
These days, I think it will be easier for oversea's fighters to ingratiate themselves to American boxing fans. Because America has less top heavyweights fighters, and the fighters they do have? Are terrible, they have terrible altitudes.
Big Baby Miller for example, is terrible.
Deontay Wilder is for me, the only America Heavyweight who? Has built up a loyal fan base. He even has fans all around the world, his stock currently right now is at a all-time high 'Losing that last fight to Fury, his performance even during a loss has made him more popular'.

Well I've not heard that, but they are unpredictable lol. But the way they've done it, interims were to fight regulars. They then removed all interim titles, but they still had mandatory entitlement to the regular champ. Then the winner of that will go on and fight the super champ, leaving one world champion. So in this case, Dubois was interim, and he got that taken off him. He's Bryan's mandatory, and Don King won the purse bid. And the winner will be Usyks mandatory. So farcical lol.

I don’t doubt anything you say but I am almost 100% sure (I will say 93%) that the winner of this fight is supposed to fight the winner or Hunter/Hughie next…

Ok pal. Time will tell. I wouldn't mind that anyway. These guys need to do more imo to earn a shot, so I'd be happy to see the two winners fight.Comment

Him quitting against Joyce is brushed over in laughable fashion because he's a Frank Warren fighter, if he was a hearn fighter they would be calling for his retirement.Dubois just reminds me so much of Errol Christie. His best win remains Nathan Gorman who was hyped up for..... Being Tyson Fury's cousin
It's not to say Dubois has no future but there really just isn't a lot to go on with
Him, this fight is a step up and will be his best of he wins it, and if he does win it still doesn't tell us MUCH about him.
