I love Inoue, but Rigo by UD all day long. Rigo was a great travesty, one of the best technical fighters ever.
Prime Rigondeaux vs Prime Inoue

Inoue beats Rigondeaux.
It's not a matter of primes, it's a matter of styles. He's not Nonito and doesn't look for the one big punch. Inoue beats Rigo.Comment

Crazy to see boxing fans still using triangle theories...how many times has this been proven it doesn't work like this.Comment

ThAnk you Styles make fights. Rigondeaux would be pressured relentlessly. Inoye has really good foot and hand speed as well. He is not a plodder.Comment

Love watching Inoue and Rigo is a chore but I have to go with the Cuban. When an elite defensive fighter goes against an elite offensive fighter, I favor the defensive fighter.
I think Inoue is something special but so was Rigo.Comment

Many of the Cuban fighters dont like Pressure. They seem to fold in give and take battles. I just feel like Inoye has speed and timing as well as one punch power. Remember Prime Rigondeaux was not seen because he was an amateur. I just canrt get out of my mind when he basically quit angainst Loma.Comment

That's a fair take. Rigo was in his late 30s and fighting at 130 against Loma (so far from either his prime age or weight), but it's hard to separate that visual of him quitting when assessing him in his prime.

I do think Inoue is special but we tend to overrate offensively skilled fighters and underrate defensively skilled fighters IMO.
I don't normally debate mythical matchups, there is no real "correct" answer and we will never know.
