Canelo Alvarez or James Toney, who has better defensive skills?

Toney as lazy he was training he went all the way up to HW and not get knocked out. James defense was very good and subtle. His laziness and lack of activity in fights cost him some fights. He kept on coming over weight or had to cut too much weight.
Great fighter but his laziness got the best of him. -
Toney.
Canelo is not a good defensive fighter, notice his skills only manifest against B and C level fighters. Whenever Canelo faces an A level fighter they land whatever they want, they'll have Canelo backing up and pressing his back up against the ropes.Comment
