I don't like all of this hate for a kid that's only 23. He got a clear win.
Why is there so much hate for Haney? The young man did what was necessary to win.

I think it’s due to his style being not all that fan friendly. It’s kind of bizarre since Shakur has a similar style but more fans seem to like his style a bit moreComment

I personally don't hate Haney. Nothing personal. I hate the belts and what they represent: Corruption. His style also is something I can do without.
I never liked Shakur's style either, ever. Still don't care for him. He's dreadful to watch. We demanded some urgency and killer instinct from him and he impressed in his last couple of fights. To me, Shakur is a good fighter but nothing like some people are trying to make him out to be. He hasn't fought anyone. Valdez is OK but weak, IMO.
We'll see.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 06-08-2022, 01:16 AM.Comment

I don't think it's racism or anything like that. But, yes, if Loma won all those 4 trinkets, it'd have been considered monumental. That's why many white racist detractors are riding this negative vibe and not lauding these belts at all. Or, like I did 2 decades ago, fans are actually coming to realize that belts don't make the champion and are meaningless. Belts are actually a liability.
Haney is still my number 5 at lightweight and Kambosos wasn't ever in my top 10.Comment

Probably same reason Klit got hate. Jab and grab. You can be boring in the ring or out of the ring, but not both. He wasn't so jab and grabby his last fights though, maybe this was a one off to just secure the win.Comment
