  • Too much clinching and cheaty defensive skills should be banned!

We saw that shıt in Haney vs Kambosos again. Haney clinched and hugged when Kambosos started to close distance. Haney also ducked into Kambosos' knees and Kambosos couldn't find a surface to hit him. Haney did these entire 12 rounds. Both are should be banned.

Boxing should be fair sport and needs new regulations. If fighters do these illegal moves too much, they should be DQed. These dirty skills are very effective on result of fights. Much more effective than PEDs or other shıts.

I completely agree. And a good referee will warn and then penalize a boxer for doing this. This referee was either incompetent or corrupt. He wouldn't let them fight out of the clinch and he wouldn't penalize Haney. It was as if he was on Haney's side. Jab, jab, duck, CLINCH as soon as Kambosos closes the distance. Then the referee comes along, separates them and Kambosos has to go back to where he started, outside, right there for Haney's jab. It's like this eternal loop you get stuck in, with no escape.

Point is that these are illegal. You can't duck below the belt line because you take away all scoring areas. It's just like turning your back on your opponent. You get penalized for that too for the same reason.

It's unreal that people call this boxing. It's cowardly is what it is when the only way you can win is to cheat.

You know when you get hit with a good shot, you
clinch to survive round. If you clinch it can be seen as you are hurt and in survival mode. So you can lose round.
So i don't see clinchilng being banned but definitely for judges to take it into consideration when judging who won round

Guess clinch when they are hurt, true. But it's illegal and can cause a point deduction. It doesn't happen to often because guys only do it when they are hurt and could care less if a point is taken away because it's better than getting KTFO.

But to be used when you're not hurt, every five seconds? lol Guy needs to be penalized. It's explicit in the rules that it's illegal and if abused, points will be taken away.

Yep we don't see those old school shoulder to shoulder fights anymore, always the ref breaking things up.

Didn't many greats clinch a lot. Like wlad, Ali, Floyd?

1- Warning if fighters does a few times.
2- Point penalty if fighter does more.
3- DQ if fighters does 12 rounds like Haney.

Boxing rules should be applied 100% for fairness. That's why I like Canelo. No clinch, no cheaty defense. His defense are on shoulder level most of the time.

Come on guys. You picked Kambosos. You were just wrong. Stop with the excuse making.

Every fighter clinches when in trouble. Every pro that does color commentary for the fight suggests holding when in trouble.

This thread feels like sour g****s from posters that aren’t adult enough to admit they were just wrong.

Gtfoh. Boxing is still dirty because of idiots like you. Kambosos' most of beautiful power punches were prevented by Haney's cheaty skills. We all know who would win the fight if Haney fought fair. Kambosos lost but fought like a man. I still like him and will keep rooting for him in the rematch.
