    Is Devin Haney The "Boogyman"?

That article recently published still has me thinking about it. I get being confident, but saying everyone is ducking you just seems like too much to me. So in case you missed it, Devin says that Ryan Garcia is ducking him. He said Lomachenko is ducking him. He said that Teofimo Lopez is ducking him. He said that Tank Davis is ducking him too. He's not ducking anyone, but everyone is ducking him.

So what do people think here?

How does Devin Haney vs Gervonta Davis go? Who wins? What about Haney vs Loma? Haney vs Garcia and Haney vs Lopez?

Personally I think Loma beats Devin right now. I think he is broken down just like Loma broke down Luke Campbell. Like a blend of Luke and Rigo.

I think Tank Davis KO's Haney. I think Lopez stops Haney too.

The only fight that I think would be close is Garcia because Garcia's footwork is garbage. But that's it. And I think Garcia beat Haney four times out of six in the amateurs.

    What's going on with Haney?

I feel Kambosis is more the Bogey man in a glamor division, Devin is kinda expected to do great things.

Yeah. For sure. I think Kambosos is a stumbling block for guys. But we'll see if he caught lighting in a bottle with Lopez or if he's as good as I think he is. Haney some physical advantages. I think he's got better reactions than George.

Devin had a ton of hype behind him, so I think he gets more criticism than he deserves. But that's what happens. I think guys were more likely to avoid him before the Linares and Diaz fights. I think that those fights took away a lot of fear about being outclassed because it became apparent that you don't have to worry about his punching power. We saw Linares and Diaz constantly come forward on Devin. Not once did they act concerned. I think his lack of punching power is his achilles heel because guys are just going to come forward, cut off the ring, and outwork him. He's kind of a one to two punch kind of fighter.

I can't see him beating Tank or Loma. I definitely can't see that. But we'll never know unless they fight each other.

I will say this: Haney seems sincere in his desire to fight all commers. I also feel that none of these guys is a known, reliable bet. People scoff at Devin, but these same folks then parrot the company line that none of these guys fight each other. As far as Haney's ability... He is very young and does not have his man strength yet. He seems able to make the weight. I don't think he is a front runner but there is a certain skill in trying to see where these guys will be in the near future. Haney has a father that cares, is game... and might well iron out some of his foibles as he progresses. This fight coming up will tell us a lot.

To me its a guy off the pace that others can be perceived to fear, its the guy in the back that nobody wants to fight similar to Andrade and also Ennis for the same but different reasons, I don't see Haney in that light but no doubt others could. In racing its the Dark Horse type thing.
