I haven’t read through this thread but were the same forum members who were saying nobody accused Tank of being scared of or ducking Rolly now saying, again, that Tank is ducking a Rolly rematch?

Just a prediction, I could be wrong. But knowing NSB behavior, I think at least 1 poster in 3 pages said, or alluded to, such a ridiculous claim. It’s just NSB behavior. If there hasn’t been someone yet, I am sire there will be eventually.

My prediction for the fight was that because Rolly has such a dangerous style of fighting (for his opponent and himself), he will be dangerous for the first 3-4 rounds. Wide stance, wide punches, haymakers. While this is a very rookie/novice/street-fighter stance, it is dangerous for the beginning of a fight. No matter against whom. Yes, Rolly lacks boxing fundamentals, but he is still dangerous in the first few rounds. He’s “easy” if you adjust and time him with his wide stance and wide punches. But you also need to be careful with a wide stance because those types of boxers, while crude, sit on every single punch they throw. But they also become telegraphed. This takes around 3-5 rounds to adjust to. Tank did that and he did it perfectly. It really couldn’t have happened any better. That KO is a dream come true for any boxer. Weather the storm against a puncher who is out to KO you, then get the KO yourself.

I compared Rolly’s style to Zab Judah’s style from what I saw in the two fights I watched of his. Like Judah, Rolly can win the first 3-5 rounds. Judah had massive success against Tsyzu, Mayweather and Cotto in the first 4 rounds. But they eventually adjusted to his wide stance and beat him. With Tsyzu ending Judah’s success much earlier than Mayweather and Cotto did, due to his one punch power.

Looking at the rbr thread, posters looking way too into the first 3-4 rounds of success for Rolly. I recall only one poster stating what should have been the obvious. Paraphrasing: “Rolly is doing well, but it’s only a matter of time before he runs into a left hand by Tank.”

To me, Rolly’s success meant nothing. Literally nothing. His early success was par for the course. The KO was also par for the course. His fight vs Mariņez really showed all of his flaws and what will be his downfall. It was obvious that when Rolly faced a puncher who can move a bit, he was going to get KO’ed. Guaranteed this will not be the last KO Rolly suffers. His style is either he will KO his opponent in 3-4 rounds, or, if he fails to do so, he will either get outboxed or KO’ed himself after 3-4 rounds.

        Definitely not an immediate rematch.

Tank was biding his time knowing the kid would get anxious.
Rolly isn't hard to figure out.

He needs to get his ass back into line and earn his shot again, there are others more deserving now.

What about the other guys in the division who are working their butts off for a shot at Tank? Should they just wait around while Romero gets chance after chance to figure Tank out? And what about Issac Cruz? He gave Tank all he could handle and wants a rematch badly. Should he take a back seat to Romero just because Rolly got his feelings hurt?
Cruz was getting rotated for at least eight rounds and only looked good because he bullied and threw haymakers.

So beating the ghost of Gamboa is enough? Means Haney should be next in line, right?

They deserve a rematch if you got a gift draw, like you did against pitbull cruz... You lost that fight & blamed it on your bruised "pinky"... hahaha.. Coward

rematch? Nah...Rolly needs to understand the need to go back to the drawing board. he had a golden chance to jump on Davis early but he stopped deciding to try to out jab Davis. He couldn't do it, bottom line... When Rolly let Tank get into his rhythm it was a matter of time and it would be next time as well. Some guys can actually recognize when something has to be done and do it... Rolly was getting to Tank and needed to get in there and make the fight in close, **** into and through tank... use that Judo.

Rolly Romero = Deontay Wilder... Might have the power, but don't know how to use it. Might be fun to watch him blow away up and comers, but will get schooled by top five in the division and the emerging elite. Rolly's inflated record got him his payday. From here it's his mouth, not his power, that will get him a couple of extra paydays BECAUSE people will pay to see his head get handed to him. He's gonna be a YouTube video of "Here's What Happens When You Talk **** to Tank!" That left hook is highlight reel! Guys like Rolly come and go, and we especially love to watch it when they go. It's like finger lickin' good BBQ. Love it.

Bottom line, a title challenger who get's KO'd in the sixth round is not entitled to an immediate rematch and will likely not get one. And, Romero is a classless asshole. His attitude won't help him be awarded a rematch. He got half a million for that fight. He should be thankful to have gotten the shot and the money that came with it.

I was with you right up to the point you mentioned Zab Judah. There is zero comparison between Judah and Rolly. Judah was a world class boxer who imploded and was his own worse enemy. Rolly is slightly better than a bar-room brawler.
