So why does the thought of Benn fighting Avanesyan so scary? It’s an easy fight to make. Same promotion, same country. For some reason it scares the shyte out of Hearn/Benn.
who cares about that guy, you'd all just discredit him afterwards anyway after benn steamrolled him

This isn't to downplay Jaron Ennis's capabilities and I bet that he will get bigger names in the near future such a Jamal James, Stationis, Butaev, Keith Thurman and other top contenders compared to his current resume. But currently Vergil has done more with less amount of fights.

Antonio Orozco who was a light welterweight and lost only to Jose Carlos Ramirez by decision with a decent win against Humberto Soto.

Brad Solomon who beaten Adrian Granados in his prime (the same guy who made connor benn really struggle) and only ever lost to Konstatin Ponomarev by split decision.

Maurice Hooker before JCR loss by TKO was an undefeated and large light welterweight with some decent wins. After he lost he had at tune up at weight clause between light welterweight and welterweight against a unknown light welterweight boxer from Mexico.

He is called Uriel "Bombardero" Perez (19-4-0) with 18KOs and a pulling a upset prior to the bout against undefeated Matheiu Germain. (17-0-1)

Vergil was infected with Covid during the camp and had a right shoulder injury prior to the fight.

Egidijus Kavaliauskas knocked out David Avanesyan and gave a difficult fight to a prime Crawford before getting knocked out. After the Crawford fight, he fought Mikael Zewski before Vergil Ortiz. Now Vergil is facing David Avanesyan after having rhabdomyolysis, Ava after his loss to Mean Machine has been in a major winning streak and pulled upsets as mentioned in my other reply.

Chris Van Harden a notable win who Jaron Ennis was dominating, however it was ruled a no contest due a incidental headbutt.

he knocked out Lipinets who lost to Mickey Garcia a lightweight, had a draw with Clayton and a win against faded 36 year old Lamont Peterson who came back after losing to Spence by KO.

Dulorme lost to Ugas, had a draw with Jesse Vargas who was near the end of his career, had a good win against undefeated Terrel Williams then was back to a losing streak to Jamal James and Stanionis before facing Ennis.

Custio Clayton had a tune up prior to Ennis against Cameron Krael (17-22-3) after having a draw with Lipinets. His biggest win is Hank Lundy though you could argue he was never knocked out before in the first round. It took Crawford 6 rounds.

He will take care of it. Hearn is protecting a guy who doesn't want to be protected.
I stand corrected. Different promotion. Thank you.

I know very little about Avanesyan. I’ve only seen him fight once except highlight reels but I find it hilarious that Hearn/Benn back peddle every single time his name is mentioned as an opponent.

When is that Thurman/Benn fight happening? Or is that just more agenda driven bu!!shyte on your part?

Ramirez is not world class.. he’s barely scraping by guy’s at 140. Benn vs Ramirez is a ****-show.. Benn is so much bigger and stronger. There’s a reason why Benn hasn’t fought Avanesyan despite all the call-outs in the last 3 years.. that’s a way tougher fight. Ramirez wouldn’t beat anyone at 147. Heck, he wouldn’t even beat Prograis or Antuanne Russell at 140
I agree that Zepeda and Postal beat Ramirez. But he beat Hooker and Pedraza. Sop that makes him world class. Avanesyan is fringe world level, and that's where he'll stay. He can punch, but that's about it. He'd never achieve what Ramirez has. Ever.

Ramirez could definitely do with the extra weight considering he struggles to make 140. He's not Taylor level of struggling, but it's a push. Benn probably would be seen as the favourite. But experience does count, and Benn doesn't have much in the way of that. It's a big risk at this point in his career. But one that's worth the risk. Do not underestimate Ramirez here, he does have a chance.

For the record, Prograis would bounce Avanesyan too. Russell is a nobody and will prove to be a nobody whenever he steps up against anyone with a pulse. Ramirez would deal with him no problem.

You mean like how you do when you say you're going to leave the forum if a guy loses then don't?

Benn wants no part of Avanesayan.
