True Legend, no doubt. You can't deny it.

Says who? Can! His only really impressive win as a MW champion was the one over Glen Johnson. I mean, the only time he beat a truly good fighter in an impressive way to defend his title. And Johnson was not as good at MW as he is at LHW.

Well, it's not his fault the middleweight division absolutely ****** from 1994-2004, but it is his fault for not moving up and taking on challenges at 168 and above. Glen Johnson was a nobody when Hopkins fought him. I love when people point to that as a great win when Johnson didn't even become remotely known until about 2003.

Exactly what I always said. He always took on big name opponents when he knew they were not in shape. He's a big cheat and a crook. And he made a lotta money making bets on himself since he knew he had to win over incapacitated fighters.

Do you realize the main goal of this sport is to hit the other guy, and to not be hit by him????

Yes. But that does not make you a legend. Not just accomplishing that. You gotta do more than just avoid getting hit to impress. Or so I have understood it anyway...

Erik Morales, Julio Cesar Chavez, Roy Jones, James Toney...none of them just looked to get by with a dull points win. And avoid getting hit. They took in a stiff punch now and then to be able to put an impressive performance and be exciting. They took the risk! Hopkins and Whitaker almost never did.
