What the hell?
the guy is a Geordie isn’t he? Or at least that area, County Durham maybe. That’s how they talk.
I was in Newcastle two weeks ago and pretty much every lady over about 35 working in a shop or cafe called me “pet” while I was being served. It’s part of their every day vocabulary.

This is what happens when you don't have free speech laws in a nation. Granted, he shouldn't be insulting anyone, but no one should be arrested for hurting someone's feelings.Comment

here is what he was arrested for under UK's ****** laws that do not support free speech:
"accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress"
lol what a bunch of ****ty laws
It was illegal to "insult" them, its subjective what is insulting to someone and then the jury has to speculate on his intent and all this nonsense. what a **** show. they have nothing better to do with the police and courts time? does the UK not have more serious crimes to pursue?Last edited by elfag; 05-24-2022, 09:59 AM.Comment

It’s not insulting
he’s from the north east of England, they call everyone “pet” there, it’s a friendly term, like they use it in shops when saying thankyou or something, “thanks pet” - it’s part of the vocabulary where he’s from. It’s said in a polite/endearing way. They all use it.
anyone visiting the place he’s from will be called it 10 times a day at least.Last edited by deathofaclown; 05-24-2022, 10:03 AM.Comment
