Got told today that Boxxer offered Anthony Yigit the Azim fight, Yigit accepted but Sky rejected the fight. Must’ve felt it was too much of a risk at this stage in Azim’s career. Would have been an interesting step up.

I think Shane was talking about this recently. I think he said they were looking at Yigit for a fight late this year, he specifically mentioned his name. Maybe he felt it was a bit too much too early as you say. I'd like him to fight again against a reasonable domestic opponent (possibly the English? in May, then fight for the British when Dalton vacates, then Yigit December. That'd be a good step, possibly even skip Yigit if the European becomes available.

Saw Maxi Hughes talking about being offered the Cully fight on the Taylor-Serrano II card - he says Eddie told him he's above that level, but went on to offer it anyway. Doesn't seem too happy.

Think he'd rather fight Cabrera in an eliminator with the IBF. It's a difficult one. I think Matchroom know now that he's not getting the Ryan Garcia tune-up fight they were kind of looking for, and he's likely not winning a world title, and I don't know how well he does ticket-wise? It does make sense to have Cully fight him, it's a real test for Cully, Maxi can box but doesn't carry much power so it's not like he's going to get sparked and may never recover.

Interested to hear your thoughts RJJ. I do actually like Hughes-Cully on that card, it's a terrific third down the bill fight. Wouldn't mind Hughes-Cabrera on a Dalton Sheffield April card either.

I was kinda hoping to see Hughes vs Berinchyk for the European title, thought that would have been good for the AJ card. If he can't get that eliminator, someone like Patera or even Yigit would be good defenses of that fake IBO belt

Yeah it seems quite a big step up but in saying that I do think he’d beat Yigit quite comfortably. Maybe it happens later in the year like Shane has alluded to.

I actually really like that fight. I can see why team Hughes would view it as high risk low reward but I do think it’s a good matchup. I’d be all for that fight happening May 20th.

Seems absurd that a broadcaster is rejecting fights.

Especially rejecting fights for being too dangerous. I know broadcasters have rejected fights in the past if they’re not TV worthy but I can’t recall them rejecting a fight because it seems too risky.

Coppinger reporting Canelo-Ryder and Taylor-Lopez both close to being finalised.

Ryder will travel to Mexico, Taylor could fight at Easter Road.

I'm surprised Teofimo would go to Scotland, guessing the Canelo fight will be at Azteca
